Shifter Oil Leak - Hawk 250

I tried searching but I couldn't find the answer to this. Can anybody enlighten me on where to get a replacement o-ring?

I will bet you that every Hawk have that leak it just not everyone noticed it yet.After a nice run I touch the bottom of the engine and there is always a little bit of oil around the shifter.The good thing is it does stop when the engine cools down a bit.I'm not concerned because it's not enough to cause any problems.

Lean bike over on the right side so the oil won't come out. Remove shift lever. Use a small screwdriver to remove seal. Take to your local bearing shop to get a new one. Probably a 14/28/7. Reassemble in reverse order.

I wouldn't be concerned except that after I wipe it off it continues to slowly drip on the floor and doesn't ever stop.

Mudflap has a pretty good answer to your problem.

Yup, it's a 5 minute job. Why put up with a leak?

I forgot to post that I couldn't find the part locally so I had to order a oil seal off eBay the size needed is 14x28x7

Thanks for the follow up. Mine doesn't leak, but if it ever does at least I know which seal to get

Yep, I already got it written down in my little book along with the Honda 17211-ZL8-023 air filter, ect.

Mine is leaking, I thought it was leaking from one of the case bolts, now I know where the leak comes from
