Cross reference ?

New Hawk250 owner by Thursday hopefully here.
Do you guys have a cross reference for parts on the hawk . Like oil filters , sprockets, bars , tires , brake pads , and ect.
Sure would be cool if such a list existed .
Most inportantly is oil filters as I will need replacement by Friday am as I plan to break in motor Thursday nite .

the hawks oil filter is reusable as it is just a wire screen that is accessed on the left side of the engine. also engine oil is 1 quart not 1.6 as the manual says.

hadnt needed pads yet but i think these may be the same. http://www.cscmotorcycles.com/TT250-...AKES-s/368.htm

first thing you will need is a set of jets to jet the carb as it comes really lean then maybe a 17tooth front sprocket if your doing much road stuff.

This site is getting bigger and bigger over the last year http://hawk250.com/

Use generic search terms like Chinese motorcycle on ebay or Amazon.

There's tons of stuff out there and cheap so you can play all you want without breaking the bank.

Thumbs Up

Wire screen oil filter is a bit spooky , just sayin.
for all the replies .
They will help. The tip about generic search is super helpful . Looking forward to sharing pix of the journey me and this little bike will be on . Looking like tomorrow it will show up at my workplace . Thoughts on rejetting the orginal carb or just buy a Mikuni right away for ya all ??? I most likely will buy a pipe right away and rejet at that time .
Thanks again everybody .

Have you checked out the NUMEROUS videos on youtube from Motocheez? He is a member here, but does not post too often; his videos have helped sell many Hawks. He has seemingly dozens of them, so you will probably want to find the one from the beginning. If it has to do with the Hawk--it is on a Motocheez video!

This might be his first one...

hi there welcome, just my 2 cents like others here before i spent 120.00 on a pipe i took the spark arrestor off punched several holes in the baffle with a chisel and was amazed at the difference for now its fine with me.im new to the chinese bike scene ,but been riding since i was 5 so 33 years so buying a new bike and going over everything is new to me.that said i love it .loc tite everything grease lube cables, and most of all im curious if the chinese quality control is getting better ive read alot about loose bolts on the bike,i found on on the back foot peg.Not to mention they are paint marking bolts that have been tightened.Just curious .also some have just used the oringinal carb but rejetted it,you can cut slots in the carb bowl screws,Jerry Hawk and Motocheese i belive have the orinals just rejetted.Good luck and enjoy ,make sure to take a pic of a nw hawk beening born out of the box.Cheers

It arrived at 10:30 am. I work till 4 pm , it was killing me knowing it was just sitting there. Rushed home and unloaded it from truck . Everything is ready to roll except plastic . Finding a lot of loose bolts , no biggie . Really low on oil . Charging battery and I will finish ot tomorrow . 10 hour days and a couple hours after work really kicked my old man butt today . OH front fender has holes wrong . I will modify amd it's again no biggie . Love the green and black woth the new Black rims for this year it looks awesome , even better for $1500 shipped with extra electrical warranty . Lastly, seat has bad upholstery job , this should also be an easy fix . So far I feel these bikes are for those that have been around bikes for awhile and one needs to know their way around a tool box .

Mine had that same wrinkle in the seat but after I had the seat out where the sun could hit it the wrinkle magically disappeared. As far as carburetor I just rejetted the stock carb with a 115 but I gutted the cat out. a 110 jet is a good start if you have the stock exhaust. Remove the cap over the idle mixture screw and reset it to 1 1/2 turns out as a starting point. Shim the needle with two small thin washers too. After doing these mods I can start it without choking the carb on warm days and will idle without having to fool with the idle speed screw. On cold days I can start it on half choke and will idle. These bike are fun to play around with and customize to your liking. And most important to run it on the oil that came with it. Run it long enough to warm it up and suspend any metal that was left in there and drain it. Use a non synthetic oil for the 1st oil change so the motor can break in and seat the rings. Put about 200 mile then change again.

And great conversation starter lol. Seem like ever time I stop somewhere there's always some body checking out the bike and asking "What or Who makes that bike?" and when you tell them how much you paid far it they can't believe it. Next question out there mouth is where can I buy one?
