First time start

Got it to start but keeps shutting off right away lever was all way down gotta wait for battery to charge back up

Just read a thread saying choke lever down is off middle is half way up is on, to start it do I have it first on or off at what point do I want it where

Try the middle first. As it warms up you should be able to lower it to turn the choke off.
On some bikes you may have to manipulate it as it warms up by moving it between positions. |

I turn the idle up as well to start then turn it down after 30 seconds. Original stock carburetor? My idle mixture was super lean. I turned it from .5 turn out to 1.5 turns out and it idled way better.
