Hello from lousiana.

I got in a new hawk 250 last week. So far I've installed:

Carb with jets
Exhaust
15/45
Replace all bulbs with LEDs
Mod airbox
New sealed battery
Underbar mirrors
Bark Buster's
Cut rear fender
Iridium plug

Waiting on mco so I can ride this dang thing.

Welcome Aboard from another Louisiana member. You can always take it up to Tower Trax up In Fluker until you get it registered.

Hey, thanks! Any issues I should clear up before I head to license office? I already got her insured and I'll stop by to get a brake tag on the way.

If I were you I would head to one of the local notary /tag shops. Almost guaranteed not to have any issues. Also I think the DMV has it listed as HAOS. I don't have the title with me but i'll check to make sure.

It's not necessary but does help keep it cool. You can go longer between oil changes and the oil doesn't get black. If you planning on going off road I would put one on as you don't have the same cooling effect when going at a snail pace speed on the trails.

Welcome! Nice start on the mods. Like Jerry said, you don't need one, but it definitely can't hurt. These engines have a small oil capacity and rely on that oil for not only lubricating the cylinder, piston, and valves, but also the gear box. The oil also is part of the engine cooling. That triple duty wears out oil pretty quick. Keeping it at a more consistant temp does nothing but good things.

Yeah, I'm just using the hawk to find the trails around. Jerryhawk250 do you know where I could find 27.5 pilots for the vm26 mikuni around lousiana?

They make a good trail bike, but you might be impressed how good of a road bike the Hawk can be. I initially bought mine for a little side fun, and found myself using it more and more to run errands and get to work. It won't do an hour on the interstate, but local and state roads are no sweat.

Not right off hand. Most of us on here just order them online. You could try some of the local cycle repair shops.

Congrats. I been there done that. lol The lady at the notary shop was patient and took the time to look for it. DMV would of probably sent me on my merry way empty handed.

This thing is a blast. Been riding around the neighborhood and practicing my emergency stopping to get the muscle memory down. I probably look like an idiot stop and go, stop and go stop and go.

Going to take it to the national park in a few weeks with a backpack on my back with a hammock and some camping gear and see how lost I can get.

If you really want to get into some camping adventure kind of stuff then you might like the idea of a Soft Rack system like the one from Green Chile Adventure gear.

Or even just a good roll top duffle bag like the ones from First Gear, which are pretty affordable, and perfect for some camping adventures. 70L bag with tie down straps and strap points on the bottom. https://www.amazon.com/Firstgear-Tor.../dp/B00FRHAMJU
