Someone posted something about this bike in the Grom forum in 2014. It says Lifan but in the forum they called it a Motovox. I guess Motovox was planning on importing them for the US market, looks like it never happened. To bad, i like it better than the KP mini.

Couldn't hurt to call American Lifan and ask...they might have it planned. In 2014, since Lifan no longer had a presence in the US, they might have considered allowing a company to bring it in, but I am fairly certain they will not be allowing their products to be rebranded ala Zongshen/CSC.

I'm thinking the financial requirement to meet CARB is not worth it to them.

For EPA/DOT certification, as well as CARB, it would probably fall on the same certificate as the KP Mini. If you ever look at the EPA/DOT Excel sheet, they often have different models using the same engine on the same certificate. One example, on the Vader certificate, it lists several models since they share the same engine. That near full-size Ninja looking bike with the 125cc is one of the 'extra' models listed on the Vader certificate. The different Vader models are also on that certificate. I think American Lifan, however, might not have listed similar models, so they would probably need to wait to amend a future re-certification to add additional model(s), or not bring it in altogether.
While the RPS Hawk and Magician are not on the on-road EPA/DOT certification, but rather the EPA off-road list, both of them are listed on the same certification as well, which is interesting considering the only thing both share is the engine. Their chassis are completely different.
