Doh! So this epic fail just happened...

I bought a bike carrier to haul the Hawk around. Lesson learned... Stop trying to do everything by myself and use straps instead of the pinning the front wheel. Epic fail. I'm a dumbass and it will cost me. Let's hope the TT250 front wheel fits the Hawk!

Will any 21x1.6 36 spoke rim work? I think I can reuse everything else.

Wow! that sucks. Yes, any 21x1.6 36 spoke rim will work. I did a similar dumbass move myself over the weekend. I forgot to put my kick stand down before releasing the ratchet strap while on my trailer. Lucky it was a slow motion fall onto the trailer.

CSC isn't open today so I'll call them tomorrow to see if they will sell just the rim. Doesn't look like they do though and the rest of the hub/axle I've read is not the same.

Pro-Wheel has them but that's $100.00 with shipping. I called RPS for giggles and they only sell the entire front wheel assembly for $140.00 minus shipping.

I would look for a better rim VS stock. Taobao and Ebay are a good place to look for a good aluminum rim.

Oh man that sucks. I had a close call the first time I put my hawk on my carrier but I was able to catch it. So the way I have learned is to strap it to the handle bars. But only have enough tension to hold the bike from falling over. Then release the other strap. So now only 1 strap is holding the bike from basically falling over. Then you can tilt the bike to take off the strap and not have to have both hands on the ratchet mechanism. I should post a video.

I bought both a front and back rim from CSC last year. About $35 for the front rim as I recall.

Oh! Thanks you guys! I would prefer a better rim of course but CSCs would match and the price is right. Thanks for letting me know that Mudflap.

To Jerryhawk250, I wish I understood the Taobao game. I’ve looked on the site before but even using Google translate, it’s ridiculously difficult. Others have said you really need to employ an agent and that seems like a big pain in the butt to me but I would try it as a last act I suppose. I would MUCH rather put my money into the hands of CSC simply for the fact that even though our bikes aren’t exactly the same, most will work, the prices are great, they’re super helpful and I love the fact they offer a full set of individual parts that are nicely diagrammed. That’s worth Gold to me and I would not have purchased the Hawk if they didn’t exist.

Well....

I was thinking about getting one of those! Maybe I’ll just stick with my 5x10 trailer! When I saw the picture....ahhh...it just takes the wind out of your sails! Keep us updated on its return to duty!

Be safe out there!

I thought the Hawk and TT250 used the same front wheel. I was about to order the CSC wheel... Hopefully we can find a replacement. I know the spokes are the same.

Aluminum Rims

I have been toying with this idea for a while. Unfortunately, my spare money fund is a little low. Ok, it’s empty! I was looking at some aluminum rims on Amazon.

They have them in black or plain aluminum. They cost $123.90 plus $59 for shipping.

What are you calling the wheel? The front wheel is comprised of six systems/parts. Tire, tube, rim, spokes, hub, and rotor...ARH

I’m just going off another thread around here where Megadan replies that the front axle from CSC did not work. I think he said the rear wheel assembly worked just fine but not the whole front wheel. Rims and spokes I’m sure are the same. Rotor might be different too.
