The link you provided does not work and takes me to some weird site.

Anyways, judging by URL, I see "RTD 5 Speed"

I'm guessing you're referring to Dong Fang RTD 250?

Link works for me. It said DF250RTD. And looks like a Cafe Racer.

There is a member on here with the other variation of that frame. I just had a recent topic about the Dongfang 250RTG, which is a slightly different version of the same bike. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=22767

In that thread Jerry linked me to this thread on said bike. In this thread the owner has lots of good pictures including one that shows the relative size compared to his TU250X. They are fairly small bikes. http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=22499

As far as I can tell, same frame, engine and rear suspension. Different seat, tank, wider spaced forks, and instead of skinny 18" wheels and tires it has small wide 17"/15" wheels and tires.

They are definitely neat little bikes. I just wish I wasn't such a tall guy so I could really enjoy one. Between those two Dongfang bikes and CSC offering the SG250 around the same price point, there are lots of great options out there for road bikes.

I actually found that thread after posting this. I actually like that variant he has much better, other than the narrow tires. They look pretty simple and easy to maintain. I'm getting tired of dealing with fairings in order to wrench.

It wouldn't be too difficult to run larger tires on 250RTG. Depending on what width those rims are at least. The front could easily run a 3.0 x 18, and possibly a 3.5x18 although that might be tight. The back has plenty of room for a wider tire. I wouldn't be surprised if both bikes had the same rear swing arm, and the one you initially posted has a 140 rear tire, which is wider than 5 inches lol. The rear would definitely require a new rim to be laced on though.

Very true! I'm really leaning towards getting one. I usually change tires on my China bikes anyway just to be safe. Once I get the x22 out of the garage I'll probably add this.

Just out of curiosity why not the CSC SG250? Cost wise it's pretty close to the same. Size wise it is about the same, although with a much lower seat height.

Just as a correction for my last post, I said a 140 tire, but that was supposed to be 130.

A buddy of mine has the csc and there is just something about the looks I don't like as much and the lower seat height is just a little too low.

Even at that price, I bet it's inflated quite a bit by the time it gets on this side of shore.

Cleveland Misfit for example, was $3,000 brand new in the USA.
Last time I heard, the CPI XR250 (What CCW Misfit is based on) is $800 brand new in Taiwan.

Seems like Chinese bikes prices are typically tripled.
(I don't know about DongFang or CSC, but I assume the inflation rate is similar)

Same as Royal Enfield.
If you compare the Royal Enfield bikes in USA/Canada and in India, the prices are always doubled. (For exact same model and specs)

This is why I sometimes think Japanese bikes are better deal. They only inflate the price by maybe 10% or less.

For example the $13,000 Honda CBR might become $13,980, which is reasonable.
Also if you look at entry level bikes like Suzuki TU250 (ST250 in Japan) or Suzuki VanVan 200, they only inflated the price by $200 to $350.

That may be so but even with the less inflation I still can't afford it.
