Hands down the best would be the KP 150 Mini.

I would agree on the Lifan being the best or at least among the best (actually, more Kawi Z125 clone). It actually has more power than the Grom or Z125, AND a 5-speed manual transmission. Not to mention an interesting layout of a horizontal 150cc thumper (vs. the vertical 125cc engines found in the real deal Grom, Z125, and the several low-cost clones).

Have You Purchased Your GLV Yet?

Have you made your decision yet?

The Lifan KP Mini is a nice little bike! 150cc and a 5 speed!

Are you looking to stay closer to a Grom look? Vertical engine with a 4 speed? Are you looking at a first gen or second gen? If you are looking at a second gen, I would say go to Venom Motorsports. Their customer service is great!

If you are looking at a first gen, you have a lot more options. If you watch MotoCheese’s video on the Tao HellCat, it sounds like a solid bike and they have worked all the problems out. I personally like the Tao HellCat and it comes in at a lower price. The Hellcat is sold by a lot of dealerships. Choose your dealer wisely! I like Q9 Powersports. I have bought from them before and never had a problem. Plus they have a nice lay-away plan. If you are planning a 190 swap, the Hellcat is a good choice.

Another option is a Mini Monster! There are more than a few people on the site that have one and they are badass!

Another thing I’ve noticed are the wheels. Some look like an exact copy of the Grom, while others have more “spokes”. Of course, they sell some cool aftermarket wheels too!

Have a helped at all or have I just stated all the obvious questions?

Good luck, let us know what you decide to go with, and, as always, post some eye candy pictures!

I'm kinda wondering myself whether the KP mini might be able to have a CB/CG250 swapped in.

Probably needs some fabrication but it seems like it should be somewhat straightforward.
