New Member with New Rhino 250

Hello! Newbie here with a new Rhino! I know I am going to need help and found you guys. Just got it together and did my first start. Ran good for a minute with full choke but could not turn down the choke. Idle when running was low so I turned up the idle screw. Cut off and now it will not start at all. Ran the battery down to 11 Volts. Got it charged back up to 12 volts. I did change out the plug because I have read the stock is crap. Got tired and stopped on it last night. I am not happy with how the kill switch feels. I do not feel a click or any sign it does anything other than it did cut the motor off when I tried it. I will check for spark today but if there is anything else you think I should check, Please let me know. Soon as I figure out how to post pix I will do so. Thanks in advance for any help!

Just responded on your other thread, it's called choke, not 'chock', chocks are used for keeping wheels from rolling.

Doh! smoking pipe

One other thing that surprised me at start up was smoke coming off the exhaust pipe in front of the cylinder head. Is this normal for a first start up?

Does this let me know I have another problem? Thanks for the help on this!

Totally normal. It's just burning off the paint on the first start up.

Also, make sure there is no plastic on the exhause or touching the exhaust - we missed a piece of the plastic cover and was sitting on our exhaust on our Raptor and we were like wtf is this smoking so much.

Update! My charger made me believe the battery was charged.I got a new Schumacher trickle charger and it took 7 hours at 1.5 ampes to get a full charge. Started right up! Running good. Yes, I dumped the Wok Oil before my fist start up but put in auto 10w 40. I dumped that and now I have wet clutch 10w 40 non synthetic in it. With all I have read only here talks about the wet clutch oil. I will put in synthetic after the break in. I changed spark plug after fist start up to a NGK 7162 DR8EA and have two inch wheel spacers and swapped the rear tires. Thanks Whygostock.com. Looks like it should to me! I am very happy this morning. I will try to post pictures. I have been very nervous about this but having you all help me makes it so much better. Thank you so much!

Vee,

Did you add wheel spacers; what exactly did you do to get the wider rear stance? If spacers, what's the hub size you use?

Thanks!

Joe, 2 Inch spacers and swapped the rear wheels. Valve is now on the inside but still easy to get to it to fill the tire with air. Even though I like the way this looks, It is much better riding down a cotton row to stay off the stalks. They could punter a tire if you hit a good hard one with a sharp point. Also notice I removed the front "dining room table" off the front rack. Not liking that so much.

The spacers, did the 74mm inner diameter ones fit or did you have to use ones with larger holes?
