Another Venom X22R thread

After over a month of waiting my X22R is being delivered tomorrow I will post pics when she arrives and hopefully an unboxing video. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve

Congrats! You're going to really like it. So is yours one from the new shipment? I know Venom was trying to get them with a smaller rear sprocket and hopefully they got the speedometer calibrated a little better.

Here she is. I have to say this bike has already exceeded my expectations. The quality of this machine is so much better than my last China bike. Didn’t get a chance to star it yet but definitely will tomorrow. Still has a 42 tooth rear sprocket so I am guessing nothing got changed on this batch.

It's an Aussie bike. Happens all the time.

I just noticed some differences on the engine. Has different covers on both sides of the engine. There is no oil sight glass and it appears to have a little different clutch cable assembly.

The only difference i see between yours and mine is i have the sight glass. Well maybe the clutch cover is a little different. How much money did that save them?

She fired up on the first turn over. Man does it sound good! I am in love with this bike already and I haven’t even rode it. I have jetting, cat removal, exhaust swap k&n pod filter, sprocket change mods to do once my work slows down a bit.

Those few little mods will make you like it more. The sprocket change alone will make the bike feel much better.

I also was extremely impressed with the quality of the bike compared to my expectations.

Use some brake cleaner on the rotors if you haven’t. They come shipped with oil on them and it takes a few hundred miles to wear off naturally, but the brakes work much better once it’s off. Also, I bled the brakes and added better brake fluid which also helped. Now the brakes bite very nicely.

Yes, the pod air filter, cat removal, jetting, and sprocket change really really improve the bike. Also, it’ll gain more power as it breaks in.

It really is a fun bike. The only real negative at this point on mine is the battery was pretty cheap and after sitting due to rain for a week it was dead. This happened twice so I replaced it and I hope I have more luck with this one. Otherwise, the bike has greatly exceeded my expectations.

I have been so busy with work I have only got to ride maybe 4-5 times. I did however install a k&n pod filter and re jet to a 108 main and drilled the plug out of the air/fuel screw. Jetting makes such a difference. I am still only hitting around 60mph top speed. I ordered a 36 tooth rear sprocket last night and hope to gut the cat sometime this next week. I am looking at bigger engine mods and ran across a big bore kit on eBay that comes with cylinder, piston, cam and rocker arms for 169.00. It’s a Chinese kit. Does anyone have any experience with Chinese big bore kits? Is it something to avoid? I can’t find any Athena kits anywhere right now. Link to the kit below.

You will be looking at pitbike suppliers for your horizontal engine. Try Pete at Kronik Racing. He has been dealing in pitbikes and performance parts for them, but due to his proximity to Baodaio/Boom's headquarters has become quite knowledgeable on that brand's bikes. www.kronikracing.com
