TT 250 Emission Delete

Has anyone done an emission delete on a tt 250? Is there a kit available?

I have done it. I used a bunch of rubber caps from the auto parts store to cap the airbox fitting and the fitting near the exhaust port. Eventually I will fabricate a plate to go over the air injection port on the head.

I'll probably do it too, just got mine and got my first 100 miles on her. Have you noticed any difference in the way it runs?

I can't find the link right now, but someone posted a plate for the air injection on Amazon.

If the TT250 head is the same as the Hawk , Orion RXB, etc ( and im guessing it is since it's a China bike after all ) then this block off plate is what we all use :

I have that exact plate on both my Vader 125 as well as my orion rxb250L

Just plate it off like we did to ours. I did it for visual effects only. Plug the vac line from the carb and under the tank that used to go to the charcoal canister.

That said, the smog equipment does not rob power. It's strictly a fresh air intake into the exhaust port to pour oxygen on the catalytic converter to burn the excess HC's under heavy throttle at lower RPM's, plus suck out the gas tank vapors as you slosh around. If I had it again, I'd leave it.

Just remember, if you take the air intake off and leave the stock exhaust with the cat, it may soot up over time from not burning off the excess because of lack of fresh air.

If you change the exhaust and dump the cat, you best disable the air intake because it will dump in fresh O2, and cook your muffler packing if the cat isn't there.

I deleted the charcoal canister but not the AIS yet.

The charcoal canister is an easy delete. I capped off the port on the carb with a rubber cap. I tried capping off the port on the gas tank and got vapor locked. I left that open now and have had no spilling or gas fumes as a result. Deleting the charcoal canister will actually enrichen the idle slightly. I havent cut the canister open, but I did blow through it and it has no resistance. I'm not even sure there is really anything in there.

Thanks, 2LZ, best explanation yet for keeping/removing. Still not sure I want an aftermarket muffler, I hear they are pretty loud. Once had a Buell Blast and put a Vance and Hines pipe on it that was so loud it drove me crazy. The older I get, the quieter I like my bikes. My Tiger has a nice growl if you rev her, but at cruising, you hardly notice it.

I had the same exhaust on my Blast. Definitely made it the angriest lawnmower for miles.

I was getting ready to do all that to my bike. I'm riding it more, it pulls good but always would like a little more. So you're saying there's no performance benefit to cleaning the exhaust pipe out and blocking the plate. Don't want to do it if I don't have to...

Nope. It doesn't rob power. Not unless you're changing your pipe to the Ebay exhaustr then you better pulll it so you don't cook the muffler packing. I did the Ebay exhaust on the TT250, along with other mods like a pod filter and Mikuni carb. The entire setup helped power but it was also too loud for my taste now.....but I'm no longer a Spring Chicken. Seems the more deaf I get, the more "loud" bugs me.
If you'll be sticking with the stock pipe, I'd just leave it.

Bigger questions: How many miles do you have on it now? Is it broke in yet? These engines change dramatically in the first 500 miles. Also, have you adjusted the valves yet? I guarantee they're tight.
