drain all of the oil
clean casing and crack with brake cleaner
JB Weld the crack, and let it sit over night.
snug the plug and refill with oil

contact your dealer and tell them, hopefully your engine is covered under warranty.

Thank you so much! Should I press this issue with the dealer, as the bike is less than a month old and has 30 miles? Or do you suppose your remedy will suffice?

Thank you bud, I just wrote them as well as sent some pics. What would you think could be a possible outcome by reaching out to them? It would really suck to have to try to pack her back up lol

Don’t do anything until you talk to your dealer ,they won’t help you if you messed with it already .Who is the dealer ? lots of Hawk dealers are known to scurry in the other direction when you need any after sale help .

Power sports Max I believe in California. It's been leaking since day one and I never changed the oil through that plug. I bought a magnetic upgrade plug to try to.solve the problem and that's when I noticed the crack.

Well damn, what a mess. I'll just have to wait for a reply and go from there. On a side note, my hawk also kills a battery after a 20 minute ride. I'm just really not liking all these issues.

That's interesting that the battery dies while riding, I was under the impression that the battery charged while the engine ran. I know it's tough but you will get through this.

I've had problems with my bike not starting. I hit the starter and it cranks and cranks, then after a while I notice my kill switch was on.

Then my bike starts right up and idles for a few minutes and stalls. Then I start it and it continues to stall over and over, then after a while I notice my gas is turned off.

At this point I feel like a complete idiot so for safety purposes I walk away from the bike.

Hope that silly and true story can cheer ya up a little.

gotta stay away from the whacky tobbacky!!!

Thanks for the kind words bud! I have the EFI model. I have to keep my back up batter always charged because after one ride, my battery doesn't have enough juice to turn over a second time. There is no charge while riding and if my battery is almost dead, I can't even kickstart her. No issue with the kill switch lol, learned that quick. Also, my lights don't dim while riding if that helps solve anything.

Well to be honest I don't think many people have high expectations of the stock battery. I purchased a charger with an eyelet connection for my battery, that way I can plug the bike in frequently without removing any plastics. (Link Here) I usually put it on the maintenance mode over night at least once a week. It really is just a shit battery. I plan to upgrade mine when something more reliable is an actual requirement.
