Look at what I’m complaining about. Ha ha

These Lifans don’t give you much to complain about, mechanically.

Here’s my complaint.

Why does my battery go flat in about a month not riding the bike?

It’s a lithium battery. Bike has been outside in the elements with no cover for the past 6 months or so. It gets wet. Any connection or is there just a parasitic drain designed into the bike?

Might be that being a Chinese battery, it is low quality. IE one area to save a little money. But I don't know much about battery technology.

If you have a remote start/alarm or digital speedometer, they will cause a small drain on the battery.

Probably ALL lithiums come from China.

Maybe. But the $200 ones are a whole lot better than the $12 ones...

That might be it. This bike has a digital everything. The only thing analog is the tachometer. The entire rest of the bike, speedometer, odometer, gearshift indicator, everything is digital.

The alarm will be a parasitic drain and if the dash has a clock function that will be a continual drain too.

I keep Battery Tenders (Manufacturer Part # 022-0209-BT-WH) on both my TT250's when they're sitting in the garage. My philosophy is simple - I want the bikes ready to ride every time I'm ready to ride.

That’s definitely what I’d do.

But my bike is on my RV and has been since May or June. It’s out in the elements and continuously moving around from place to place.

As of right now, I’m just starting it up weekly if I can’t ride. This should keep the battery in shape. It’s been tough to find time this past month due to work and weather.

At least with lithium, a total discharge isn’t the end of the world. The day I wrote this thread, I went out to find it dead. Started on the second kick, then I let it idle for 20 mins to recharge the battery. Still bad riding weather and too busy unfortunately.

Taking it on a little rally in Florida later this month though. That’ll make up for all the inactivity the past month.

My guess? Is it injected? If so, you may have a small ECM that needs to be constantly fed.
Same thing happens to Mrs. 2LZ Victory Kingpin. I have to keep it on a tender year-round if she lets it sit for any length of time.....which is most of the time these days.
Again, just my guess.

That is what it has. It’s fuel injected.

You need a special battery tender if you use it. Here is a good link on maintaining lithium batter.

Note that this article is nine years old! Battery Tender does make versions that are switchable between Li-Ion batteries and lead acid types. The one below happens to be out of stock on Amazon, but at least you can see what you need.

I bought 2 of these. One of my vehicles is 6 volt. I like having the flexibility of pulling the Battery Tender off of the TT250 and putting on my 1930 Ford Model A.
