New rider and future china bike rider

Hello all. I am a college student from Mississippi and I am a new rider to china bikes. I have owned a dirt bike and really enjoyed it. I am trying to find some input on a new bike due to rising gas prices. I drive a four door truck that i only get about 12 mpg around my college town. I have recently started researching and looking into an enduro such as the Hibird and the Komoto. I will be using the bike that i purchase for short commuter trips, to and from school and the occasional ride at my deer camp. Any input on ANY type of bikes and recommended dealers would be greatly appreciated and im excited about becoming a member of china riders!

Good-Day.
You mentioned 2 good bikes and could choose your favorite between them.

Welcome!

What part of Mississippi?

And I'm pretty much doing to same thing as you. I really would like one of these Chinese bikes in order to make it from place to place locally without losing an arm and leg just to purchase gas.

Good luck with your decision.

Welcome! Either bike is good--they're the same bike, but the Komoto is a little more $ because it has a rear disc brake, and upside-down forks, while the Hibird has the standard fork and rear drum. There have been, and are, arguments both pro and con for either, but I know from experience that the disc, if let sitting for a long period of time, has the possibility not to work anymore. Either bike is good, though.

Welcome!!! Both bikes are good for the purposes your wanting the HI-BIRD is a bit cheaper and has some of the older technology as far as forks and a rear drum brake but beyond that they are quality built and very durable little bikes....however i must mention i am biased since my wife and i both own the BIRDS :? .

Is it going to be used strickly for street use or mixed use.If just for street, you might want to consider the sport style or a cruiser style.
