Qingqi/Qlink owners-question

I found another source of Qingqi's in the US that aren't Qlink-badged bikes. On this page, if you scroll down to the 200cc enduro, it lists one of the features as "safety switch to prevent starting with kickstand down"

Am I just naive (yes I am, but still...) or does this just mean that the bike will not go into gear with the kickstand down, or do you have to be sitting on it with the kickstand up to start it?

If it's like any other sidestand switch, it means the bike will not start if the bike is in gear with the stand down (even if you have the clutch pulled in). My Yamaha actually kills the engine if you put the stand down with the bike running and in gear, but if you shift into neutral you can lower the stand without killing the engine.

My friends R6 did this as I started it, and put it in gear with the stand down, and the bike died, so that is what I thought it meant. Rizn, thanks for your first-hand answer.

Member formerly known as "Snake" go to either Qlink's www.qlinkmotor.com site, as they sell this bike rebadged as their own, or to www.scooterfactory.com who sell the Qingqi versions--either way, they are about twice the cost, or more, of the average GY's cost, but Qingqi are actually the frame and engine OEM Suzuki DR200, so you can look at it as a bargain Suzuki rather than an overpriced GY

The bike can't be started with sidestand down.
The electric start turns, but there's no ignition.
Can easily be fixed by unplugging the wires close to the switch.

Really? I guess Qlink does something different than the Qingqi labled bikes?

I'm sure it is optional equipment specified by the importer or distributor, much like small differences between various Lifans.
