250cc scooter, electrical headache
Greetings members, please let me tap your expertise:
I have a 250cc "Peace Sports" scooter. It's a neat little ride, but it has a bad habit of blowing a fuse and has left me stranded. This scooter has an in line, 30amp fuse in the positive battery cable. After a short time of riding, this fuse will often blow and unless I carry a spare, I'm stuck. I don't know if it's original, or done by the previous owner(?) or what might be overloading and blowing this fuse. Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you. |

I would look for smashed or bare wires. Apparently you have a short somewhere. Are there any add-ons that draw high amps like auxiliary lights?

Thanks for responding.
No add-ons or accessories. Thinking perhaps high temp was involved, I did pull the radiator fan and lubed the motor. Was sluggish. Turns good now. I'll keep looking and keep a fuse in my pocket. Thanks. |

Latest, regarding temp: I got the temp gage working again. The reading went way into HOT. I'm think I'll replace the thermostat. Cool huh?
