Hi from an ancient noob.

Hi everybody. I spent most of my life in the upper midwest US. When I exceeded my lifetime maximum of sub-zero winters I retired to the tropics, specifically the Philippines. Blessed with a year round riding season and a limited budget I went motorcycle shopping. Almost all of the small bikes here are either made in China or assembled elsewhere from mostly Chinese parts. I settled on a Skygo 150 King, brand new from the local dealer, ($778 including title, tags, helmet, a liter of gas and the first year of liability coverage.)

It's basically an updated clone of a Honda CG125. Parts are everywhere and it's simple enough a barefoot mechanic can overhaul it with three wrenches and a rock.

Hiya. I too hail from the Upper Midwest, but spent a good part of my working life in the tropics. Enough so that I missed the cold weather and want to stay here. Can’t argue the deal you got, though.

Enjoy and Welcome.

Nice rack! That is a really useful commuter, errand runner. Cool!

Thanks, I'm going to be doing a thread in the reviews section while I get it through the break in. (If it holds together that long.) Mostly I'll be looking for every place they shaved a couple cents to keep the price down and my opinion on whether or not they got away with it.

Swaping out the stock rack was my first mod. I needed something a little larger and more solid to support a trunk. I'm so used to having a basket on my bicycle for running errands the Skygo felt half dressed without something to carry stuff.

The Philippines is over 7,000 islands surrounded by salt water. The thin steel fenders on these bikes turn to lace doilies in 5 years or less. An after market set, front and rear, in stainless steel runs about $30. Stainless exhaust pipe is another $20 or so.
