Sunl doesn't have the best rep going for them and that is way to much money.

The warranty means nothing if the dealer cannot get parts.

Does that $2800 include TT&L?

The Kung Fu appears to be a lot more refined than the typical Enduro. Also, having a knowledgeable mechanic shop is priceless when things break and you don't know how to fix it. Perhaps, he might be willing to negotiate when nobody buys 'em.

well, he showed me that he has parts in stock. I thought that was a plus. if he will stand by the 2yr waranty is a plus too. He just got 5 new ones in this week. he did say that he had only sold 3 of these. He thought they were ok and ordered these. He sales Tank also. Oh, that was out the door price.

Well, SunL is supposed to be on the up and up (but don't tell Bruce at EJ, because he will still laugh at you, and make you feel bad about considering a SunL... ). One of the turnaround strategies is to carry parts (wow, what a concept!! 8O ) but this bike looks very unique and might not have any equivalent parts in the US, and if SunL goes belly up, you could possibly have an orphan.

For that kinda money you could get a nice used Ninja 250... The Kung Fu 250 is not really a DS bike.. so the Ninja would be comparable to it.

You could also get a new 2008 Ninja250 for $3500. Way better looks, and much better performance... 0-60 in abou 5.5 sec, 1.4 mile in 14sec. top speed of 110MPH.

Here are some vids to compare..
88-07 250 doing a top speed run.

This one is a 2008 running WOT 0-top speed.. muffler is not stock.

One good thing about the older N250's is that they made them unchanged from 88-2007... 86-87 were slightly differnt than the rest so stick with one 88 or newer.

Check the local Craigslist. to see if any are around... They are really light too.. old one was 305 Lbs, new one is 330lbs.

I have been thinking about one myself.. I was gonna get a scooter, but the prices have really gone up.. and a 250 scoot wont go much over 70.. so it really is no better than my Roketa DS. The Ninja 250 is a nice option.. it can do long trips on the freeway, but is not SUPER powerfull either... so it is easy to manage... you do have to rev them thou.. reline is 14,000 RPM. at 70MPH you are turning 10K... or so.

Ken

Man those bikes used to scare me. Thought I'd never want one. I had no idea my 1972 cb350 had more HP when I got it.

I'd have no problem getting on a Ninja now. Still can't afford one though. They are $4000-$6000 here. Strange how there is no price difference between the 1000cc, 600cc and 250cc here.

Yeah, I know it's not a ds. but that was what I was looking for when I found this. I do like the Ninja but hard to find rite now. None of the dealers around here have a new one. Used are hard to come by too. I did find 1 500 Ninja today. Just alittle more than I want to spend.

Ironfist... where are you that a Ninja 250 costs that much???

77Formula... I would check here..
http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html

I found 4 in my area (Cincinnati Ohio) under $2800

You are correct about the new 08's... they are hard to find.. I went to a local dealer and asked about them.. his response was "I wish I had a showroom full of them" sellin like hotcakes.. But the little Ninja has always been a top seller for Kawi.

I really like the 08 styling.. but they made it a little more aggressive riding postion.. and it is uncomfortable for me... the older ones are almost a "standard" position.. and you can get clip on risers to raise the bars a couple inches.

If you want more info about this bike... I spent lots of time on this forum.. gathering info.
http://forums.ninja250.org/

Just found this nice riders review.. of the bike... nice pics too.

Good luck in your search.
