Zongshen 200GY-2: 25,000 Miles Traveled!

Today I took my Zong for a nice long ride into the Malad, and Arbon Valleys of Idaho. Along the way my odometer reached 25,000 miles. Here are a couple of photographs I took along the way.

If you wish, you can read the full ride report at the link below.

Change the engine oil, and adjust the valve clearances regularly, and your Zong should last a long time, Shawn. Take care of your Zong, and your Zong will take care of you. 8)

Do you feel like it's lost any compression?

No, my Zong runs great. However, I am going to test the compression in the next few weeks; I will report my findings.

Congrats, you may be the highest mileage rider on here? You think you'll roll over 100K?

Thank you, Jim. Are you talking about 100,000 kilometers, or miles? 8O

My Zong is actually getting more comfortable, so the miles pass more easily, Doc. I recently installed a stiffer coil spring on my Yamaha, XT225 shock absorber, and my Zong now rides better than ever!

The Yamaha XT225 shock absorber is pretty nice; it offers adjustments for both spring preload, and rebound damping.

Today, with an odometer reading of 25,400 miles, I measured the engine compression for my Zong. I got a reading of 148 psi, the very same reading I got when I measured the engine compression at 14,500 miles. Therefore, my Zong has not lost any engine compression. Needless to say, I am very pleased!

Change your engine oil, and adjust your valve clearances regularly, and the Zongshen, 167FML engine will last a very long time!

100,000 miles

I bought a brand new 2004 Cavalier years ago, and I think I sold it when I put on about the same amount of miles you have on your Zong... I just don't put on that many miles...
