Review: Warp 9 Motorcycle Rims
Back in November of last year, I laced a Warp 9 rim to the front hub of my Zong. I have ridden about 5,000 miles on this Warp 9 rim, and it is doing an excellent job.
Several days ago I went for nice ride to explore some of the local trails through the mountains. As you can see in the photograph below, the snow is receding higher, and higher up the slopes. In all these photographs, you will see the Warp 9 rim on my front wheel. However, if you are an eagle-eyed Canadian, you might also be able to see a broken spoke on my Yamaha, rear wheel! I did not notice the broken spoke until later, after I had returned from my ride. When I performed my Yamaha, XT225 swingarm conversion, I bought some used, rear wheels on eBay. Since that time, I have replaced a lot of broken spokes on these wheels. :( The Malad Valley is starting to turn green, and it was a beautiful day for a ride. Traveling farther south, I paused to take a photo of my Zong in front of a favorite mountain, with the green fields in the foreground. I took a familiar trail westward, over the mountains, and into the Arbon Valley. After traveling south a bit, I ascended another trail eastward, to see if the receding snow would allow me to descend another, favorite trail to the west. As you can see, I will need to wait a few more weeks to descend this particular trail. Since I was riding alone, I exercised some discretion, and backtracked a bit to descend another trail westward, into the Malad Valley. As I exited the canyon, I was rewarded with a beautiful view of the sun setting on the mountains to the east. When I got home, I decided I was tired of replacing broken spokes! Therefore, I used some Yamaha spokes to lace an 18-inch, Warp 9 rim to one of my Yamaha, rear hubs. You can see the finished rear wheel in the photograph below. I am very pleased with the quality, durability, and price of these alloy rims! If you are thinking about buying an alloy rim for your motorcycle wheel, I highly recommend the Warp 9 rims. Spud

Spud, I just love the photos. The openness makes me feel at home. Too many trees in GA.
We are going to need a wheel lacing tutorial next. Be nice to have next week.

Nice looking wheels and great pics! Anyone who can lace and true their own motorcycle wheels is a true craftsman in my book!

Those zong sprockets look to be held on securely too.

I am frequently amazed to see what several forum members can discover merely by examining the photographs posted on this website! For just one example of this prowess, check out the following thread. http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...er=asc&start=0 I am not kidding! If they look closely, I am sure several forum members can find the missing spoke! I examined that photograph before I posted it, and the missing spoke is visible! Spud

Spud, if someone takes the time to post a photo for us, we're going to show proper respect by studying it.
Really nice work on the rim, BTW.
