2LZ Vacation!

Part 1:
Well, I'd post this in Pics and Vids (Chinabike related, it says) or Ride Reports but so far....there hasn't been any of that....so I put it here.

I was actually a little uneasy going home Friday evening after I closed the building. I don't do vacation well....or at least I haven't for a long time....and I think I'm figuring out exactly why! 8O

After I'd arrived at the Humble 2LZ Abode, Mrs 2LZ served me a cold frosty adult beverage and told me to relax...I'm now officially 'off the clock'. I knew Saturday I'd told my buddy Roger I'd help him with electrical on his new awning so that was cool. I like doing projects with Rog.

I measured and bent the EMT, tapped into the back patio light, installed an all-weather duplex and then, ran it up around the gutter to a 90'. From that point, we ran Weathertite into a J-Box on the back side of the awning. He'd already pre-wired the aluminum awning uppon assembly for a fan, lights and stereo so we just had to tap in.

After I got home Saturday evening, burnt and dirty...we had a 'couldn't pass up' new gas stove fall in our lap....so that's what I did Sunday morning.
Out with the old....

In with the new....

While cleaning up from the stove project, I opened the cabinet under the sink to toss some garbage and I see a tell-tale little trail of dust where the cabinet floor hits the cabinet wall....pull the contact paper back.....TERMITES! 8O

I ran to Home Depot and spent a ton of $$$ on termite stuff. I found the point of entry and eliminated the tube coming up my footing from the ground.
This morning, I got up early, dig a trench all the way down the south wall, mixed the magic solution and filled the trench, then I filled the trench in and retreated.
I went inside to explore firther after pealing, scraping, vacuuming and spraying. Thought I'd poke a hole through the cabinet floor.....
Uh oh....rodent haven! 8O

Seems I had two, large enterance holes that were never stucco'd around my drain cleanout! :x
The rats lived on the left, the mice on the right! They had a freaking duplex under my sink with their own doors!!

So, I bleached the slab, sprayed for termites and got into the wall. Happy to say the termite damage was left to my cabinet!
I finally spray foamed the two holes after sealing up the wall and finished smoothing the trench on the outside. You can see the spray foam coming out from under the stucco in this pic where the trench used to be.

Got the new cabinet floor put in and nailed. Just waiting for the caulking to dry and then paint.

This was only "Day 3" of vacation! What more is in store!? 8O

Clearly you need practice with vacationing.

Aside from the cold adult beverage I grade your relaxation technique up to this point as a 'D'.

How do you do that? Get someone to serve you a cold adult beverage, I mean.

I feel your pain; I found similar critter evidence during my kitchen reno.

Maybe you aren't relaxing on your vacation, but you are certainly getting a lot done, 2LZ!
