[QUOTE=PANDEMIC;299703]I ran a remote garden tractor battery instead of the atv battery for more CCA and more battery capacity for the winch.
I could not angle the blade it would turn the atv sideways. This was 4-6" of snow with drifting up to 14" a little of hand shoveling was needed but way way less than normal. .................................................. ......................... I'm using a deep cycle marine battery for added rear weight & figured that I'd wire it in if the Rhino setup couldn't handle the power draw of the winch, but so far no problems. I think your plow might be too narrow if you cannot angle it and push straight with it. I put a narrow plow on my lawn tractor and it was doing the same thing, so I hillbillied some sheet metal to it to extend it and then it worked as it should've. To try to push all the accumulated snow on snow (straight bladed) rather than just pushing it aside as you go is likely the problem. For instance, my plow is 5' wide, fully angled it is about 6" wider than the Rhino on both sides. I only straight blade it for short clean up sweeps. There's no way I could straight blade my driveway, depending on the heavy wetness of the snow I couldn't push it 10 feet. My longest stretch of driveway is about 140' long, fully angled I clear it in four paths without stopping or getting hung up. Once I get started I'm pushing as fast as it can go. |
My Ebay $17 heated grips were delivered yesterday and I installed them, they actually get nice and hot. It was 23 last night when I took it riding, my hands would've been cold without gloves. I hate wearing gloves so these are great. They also sell heating pads that you can put under your original grips, but I'm thinking of maybe putting them under the vinyl of the seat for a heated seat too :P

trying to work the clutch, plow, brake, and gas all at the same time with gloves. pain in the ass.
Damn 50" blade. lol |
My driveway also has a nice pitch to it so reversing up it not so easy with current chains. and I know it was eating my driveway. I can hear my wife already.
So the new switch is out for delivery today will keep you updated. here is a link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
I'm thinking of gutting the remote box also so it stops draining the ATV battery.
but I do like the idea of a remote? maybe just add a kill switch like this https://www.amazon.com/Car-Audio-Inl...a-569881159818 |

How did you wire yours up Jerry?

Yup, I figured that out too that it was draining the battery.
I just put a toggle switch on the dash to turn off the power (red wire) to the wich control box.

I just came in from plowing 5" of beautiful lite fluffy snow, OMG what a difference, easy peasy. It was so much faster compared to the last two heavy wet snow storms.

Ok, I wired in my new switch from Amazon. I cut off the connector that came on the switch. Exposing the 3 wires inside I took my multimeter and tested for continuity. Here is what I came up with.
Switch Wiring-------------------------Winch Location Brown Wire ------------ IN ------------- Yellow Pin Green Wire ----------- OUT ------------ White Pin Blue Wire -------------- + --------------RED Screw I removed the wireless control box. Now I can leave the winch connected without it slowly draining the battery. https://youtu.be/14SXMqLRVPg |
I like the momentary switch setup way better then the wireless one. Will have to add this mod to my list.
I think while I have the box open I will disconnect the wireless setup, or just put a ON/OFF switch on it. |
I said screw it and pulled it. Switch is cheap and easy.
This is what the wireless remote box looks like Attachment 15669 |
