They sound great, but they're spendy.

09Fx200Q 07-26-2014 09:50 AM

That's for sure! Looking everywhere for a cheap one...

Spud installed an FMF Turbine Core II on his Zong, and I bet it would work on your bike. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=5974

Weldangrind 07-26-2014 12:41 PM

It sounds great, BTW. I've ridden his bike, and the muffler is throaty, without being obnoxious.

bogieboy 07-26-2014 01:24 PM

I run an fmf powercore 2 on mine... again... throaty but not too obnoxious... probably a bit louder than the turbine cores...

In the past I have run the full Pro-tec and currently a full Yoshimura exhaust on my Xf " full meaning header and silencer combo" The Pro-tec is a nice/cheaper but internal parts rattling is the only down side, Yoshimura is great and compact but the Price $$ is out for most budgets. I personally plan on purchasing the full Pro Circuit T4 system that I linked as my next project and always you should plan on stocking up on pilot and main jets for any changes that you plan to make.

Yeah, I might go with the pro circuit full exhaust that you linked. I was thinking about going 35/127.5 on the jets? That seems to be what most ppl have done with their XFs from what I've seen here and around the web..

What are the pro' sand con's of the spark arrester? Should I take it out or leave it be?:hmm:

Weldangrind 08-03-2014 04:13 PM

If you ever intend to ride off road, leave the spark arrestor in place; the Rangers would not be pleased if you rode through forested areas without one.

It's unlikely that you'd gain much performance by removing it anyway. They're designed to flow well.

SpudRider 08-03-2014 04:17 PM

X2 on everything Weld said. ;) Leave the spark arrestor in place. :)

Weldangrind 08-03-2014 04:35 PM

You should pop it out periodically to clean it, because the screen will clog over time. I use a plastic bristle brush and gently brush the deposits off, and then follow with aerosol carb cleaner.

JP Motorsports of San Diego used to sell a Qlink-specific exhaust which was possibly a FMF co-branded as a JP Motorsports. If I remember, it was a little expensive, but it couldn't hurt to call them and ask them.
