Tbr7 Update

3 Attachment(s)
I rode the first 100 miles with stock carb, then put the clone that had 40 pilot and 100 main.So I took out the 100 and put a 110 I had from wingsmoto I think. It was good maybe a little heavy feeling at higher throttle,so I rode it for awhile then swapped to 105.Meh...Rode it a few rides and yesterday at 360 miles I decided to try the stock 100 jet ...crap.So I thought about another rider here,Paul. He says he rides the stock carb at 6000 feet.My stock carb had an 88 main jet.Im at 6/700 ft so ok,I grabbed the 120 jet, slapped it in put in a brand new spark plug, because it was kinda blackened, put fresh Rotella in and I have found the sweet spot.Oh yeah,I put one of those air mixture extended screws and turned it out one notch from seated, and put the needle on the second spot from the top.
Now this thing is riding right! No sputter,no hesitation.yesterday and today I pushed every gear to (invisible)redline and every gear was smooth and accelerated all the way through without any hiccups. And all of a sudden my kick start works first try every time yesterday and today multiple times..lol
I know this was a long post but it needed to be shared.Im gonna throw in some pictures that’ll probably be upside down.Did a few other upgrades too.Mirrors are great by the way.

It's always nice to read a story with a happy ending. When you get these engines tuned right they are a blast.

Sounds like you hit the sweet spot with a 120 jet. Bigger than some are running with stock exhaust and intake but if that's what your bike likes then that is perfect.

Did not expect an 88 in the stock carb a 98 maybe , goes to show how lean they run. Also watched the motocheez taotao video and he also removed an 88 much to his surprise.

Looking forward to doing the carb on mine.

Thanks for the update

Paul

The attitude of your motor will change dramatically by 500-600 miles. If you like the way it is now, it will only get better as it loosens up! :-). These CG motors are super-tight out of the box.

Yeah I actually thought the 120 might be to much for stock exhaust but it turned out perfect I’m at 640’ elevation according to google.

The wingsmoto jets are known to be not so accurate but who cares as long as it performs like it should.

Yeah I watched Motocheez' video on this bike as well. I was blown away by the 88 main jet. Lordy have merthy! That could get close to piston burning territory. But I guess they have to go as lean as possible to pass regs. OH, and nice looking bike in white, SURE wish I didn't have to stand on my head to look at your pics. LOL

I know,lol...Megadan said the 40 pilot is really like a 32 or so but i didn’t have any pilots anyway so I left it.And wingsmoto do send you the nice little”Thank You”card which is thoughtful.🙂

The pictures are a result of being too close to Hellinois where upsidedown is approaching normalcy.....
