Has anyone bought a VX 250SX?
My son and I are looking at this bike. Looks like a copy of the CRF250 from Honda. Also, any thoughts on the dealer named BikesFactory.com?
Thanks for the help! Rusty (Long time lurker, first time poster) |
Welcome! The lack of replies is not indicative of the friendliness of the forum but rather an unfamiliarity with many 250's since few has any yet! Come Sept. that may change.

Yep

Yup....as far as I know the 250 is only equipped for off-road.no lighting....I have the 200-s....as far as I know bikesfactory has gone under or something.I originally purchased from them, but cant get in touch since?
|
Well, my son took the plunge. More like a leap of faith. We called several times with questions. Each time the answers sounded right.
Keeping our fingers crossed. If this works out, I'll order one too. I keep looking at DRZ's and the good used ones are still over $3 grand. I find it hard to buy a used off road machine. |

Gross Weight 160.5 lbs... thats light..... it says top end is 75mph, wounder what it will do with new gears and some carb work?>... good price... any 1 have 1 yet? |

160.5 sounds too low for GROSS weight for any motorcycle!.. I suspect that figure might supposed to be in Kilos Gross weight is the combined figure of net weight, (curb weight) and load. (passenger(s) fuel, luggage, etc.) I am a skinny @ss and It would be Illegal for me to operate on the streets as soon as I touched the handlebars!!!...My weight alone is more than the stated gross weight 8O Sorry, Tigertamer |
X-Motos Enduros? Full sized or mini's?
The info on this bike is confusing. The X-Motos factory(Zhejiang Xmotos Co.,Ltd) site shows a world of aluminum framed dirt bikes of all sorts and sizes. They all appear to be serious offroad machines (mostly pits and minimotos) of the kind i'm not used to seeing from the Chinese.
The XB-31 EEC enduro is shown on their site as being a 50cc mini enduro(but the engine is a vertical single in the photo) and the XB-35 is being made in 3 different engine sizes up to a 250 none of which are enduros. They also offer an XB-33 EEC enduro that's 125cc. Bikesfactory appears to be another atvsimports storefront. Really curious about this bike though. Let us know how it goes. |
Maybe th XB-31 is a 31cc Bolens in disguise 8)

Nice bike but ...
The sales guy said it came with a horn, and gages. Uh, that would be a not.
We received the bike late Friday. Very nice. Very powerful. But it will take some work to make it street legal. I am calling the store tomorrow to see if we can get the other items. Not holding my breath. Worse case, we'll buy the parts and have it inspected. Stay tuned for pictures and the rest of the story. Rusty |

Tiger,
This is my second "mail order" motorcycle. My first one was a 125cc version of a GY-2. Nice first bike for the boys to learn on. I considered it disposable. I think I paid $799 a few years ago for it. We sold it in a garage sale for $500 with broken plastic, etc from the learning curve. But it was fun! My middle son wanted another bike so he bought the VX 250. I told him it was a "high" risk purchase due to the proximity of the seller and probable lack of support. BikeImporter is not open yet this morning so I shouldn't comment on that support. I want to give them a fair chance. Stay tuned. Rusty |
