Has anyone bought a VX 250SX?

My son and I are looking at this bike. Looks like a copy of the CRF250 from Honda. Also, any thoughts on the dealer named BikesFactory.com?

Thanks for the help!

Welcome! The lack of replies is not indicative of the friendliness of the forum but rather an unfamiliarity with many 250's since few has any yet! Come Sept. that may change.

Well, my son took the plunge. More like a leap of faith. We called several times with questions. Each time the answers sounded right.

Keeping our fingers crossed.

If this works out, I'll order one too. I keep looking at DRZ's and the good used ones are still over $3 grand. I find it hard to buy a used off road machine.

160.5 Lbs :?: :?: :?:

160.5 sounds too low for GROSS weight for any motorcycle!.. I suspect that figure might supposed to be in Kilos

Gross weight is the combined figure of net weight, (curb weight) and load. (passenger(s) fuel, luggage, etc.)

I am a skinny @ss and It would be Illegal for me to operate on the streets as soon as I touched the handlebars!!!...My weight alone is more than the stated gross weight 8O

Sorry,
Tigertamer

X-Motos Enduros? Full sized or mini's?

The info on this bike is confusing. The X-Motos factory(Zhejiang Xmotos Co.,Ltd) site shows a world of aluminum framed dirt bikes of all sorts and sizes. They all appear to be serious offroad machines (mostly pits and minimotos) of the kind i'm not used to seeing from the Chinese.

The XB-31 EEC enduro is shown on their site as being a 50cc mini enduro(but the engine is a vertical single in the photo) and the XB-35 is being made in 3 different engine sizes up to a 250 none of which are enduros. They also offer an XB-33 EEC enduro that's 125cc.

Bikesfactory appears to be another atvsimports storefront.

Really curious about this bike though. Let us know how it goes.

Nice bike but ...

The sales guy said it came with a horn, and gages. Uh, that would be a not.

We received the bike late Friday. Very nice. Very powerful. But it will take some work to make it street legal. I am calling the store tomorrow to see if we can get the other items. Not holding my breath.

Worse case, we'll buy the parts and have it inspected. Stay tuned for pictures and the rest of the story.

Rusty

I hope you got a copy of this:

Extended Warranty:

You may extend your factory warranty on your vehicle by purchasing the following: (please see your vehicle description for factory warranty periods).

6 Months Extended Warranty: (price based on model of vehicles)
12 Months Extended Warranty: (price based on model of vehicles)
Warranty is effective only if:
The product is completely and correctly assembled by a certified automotive or motorcycle technician.
The product is used under normal conditions for its intended purpose.
The product receives all necessary scheduled maintenance and adjustments.
The following are warranty limitations and exclusions:
Filters
Hoses
Lubricants
Gaskets
Spark plugs
Standard wear and tear: plastic parts & components (color coordinated housings, etc.) batteries, brakes, brakes handles, seats, lights, belts and tires
Extreme riding, racing or competition
Loss of time without motorcycle
Vandalism, fire or theft
Crash or accident
Unauthorized outside repair
Labor is free if you send your vehicle to our warehouse facility for repair
Warranty does not cover or reimburse any outside labor charges
Warranty does not cover any towing or shipping charges to and from
Defective warranty part(s) are required to be returned to exchange for new replacement part(s). New replacement part(s) under warranty will be shipped to buyer at no additional costs. Returning your defective part(s) will ensure we send you the correct part(s) and assist us in monitoring and correcting potential manufacture defects.

For your safety and the safety of your family, any necessary assembly or maintenance must be performed by a certified technician in order for warranty to be valid. There may be unforeseen issues that require the expertise and knowledge of a trained professional. These issues include, but not limited to: electrical connections that have become disconnected in shipping, vacuum or fuel hose(s) dislodged in shipping and Loose nuts and bolts in need of tightening. While these issues are normally very simple to correct, most being a simple re-connection, they can be a nuisance and very difficult to troubleshoot without the proper knowledge.

Our first concern at Bikesfactory.com is your safety and satisfaction. These vehicles will be driven at high speeds and by children in some cases. These concerns are better preserved by having your vehicle properly assembled and inspected prior to use.

To find a list of local technicians, please click on the "Find a Repair Shop" link under the Resources menu located at the banner of our website.

Did they charge extra for 6 months of factory warranty?

And labor must be done at the warehouse facility?

I think they could do a little better on the coverage!

At least you got the 250. Show us some pics!

No horn? How can they register it for you that way?

Please let us know your experience with BikesFactory 8O

Ride safely,
Tigertamer

Tiger,

This is my second "mail order" motorcycle. My first one was a 125cc version of a GY-2. Nice first bike for the boys to learn on. I considered it disposable. I think I paid $799 a few years ago for it. We sold it in a garage sale for $500 with broken plastic, etc from the learning curve. But it was fun!

My middle son wanted another bike so he bought the VX 250. I told him it was a "high" risk purchase due to the proximity of the seller and probable lack of support. BikeImporter is not open yet this morning so I shouldn't comment on that support. I want to give them a fair chance.

Stay tuned.

Rusty
