I found my answer in the Templar X resource guide. The standard can be lowered in the same way as the X. It has been done, not just talked about.

Thank you. I have the compression clicker as soft as possible. I'll make sure that nut is seated snugly. One of the reasons I was hopeful was because this nut was loose.
