Agreed. This was only for a temporary test to crank the engine via the starter to see if it had spark.

I would not attempt to run the engine without a kill switch and a starter relay (w/ switch). On my setup with a DC cdi... the power to the cdi goes from the battery through the start-stop (kill) switch and then to the cdi (different color wire). So removing power to the cdi stops ignition (spark) and the engine.
