As an option to getting the hard side luggage racks.

I read on a fakebook forum of temp x owners that the plastic dipsticks are breaking inside some motors causing damage. Where might one find a more durable replacement for the stock plastic one?

That's the first i've heard of that issue. Not sure i'd give it much worry if its a 1-off.

The dipstick can break off is it is not installed correctly. If inserted at the right angle the end will get caught somewhere around the shifting mechanism and put a bind on it. It wouldn't be the first time that has happened on a few bikes posted on here. If you have a site glass you will not need to use the dipstick anyway.

pilot jetting
FYI, Texas Pete went to #42 on the pilot instead of #45. And he adjusted the pilot screw accordingly. My #45 is probably fine where I live (~800 feet), but even when it is cold, I barely need choke on a cold start.
So I think 42 might be better in some cases, particularly if you are higher than 1000 feet elevation. Original jetting might be good at 4000-6000 feet. I have not taken the bike to the Rockies (6000-8000 feet), but the original jetting might actually work at those altitudes. |

Even with the CG engines dipstick can be twisted and break off if it is not installed correctly. I did assume that the feeling of plastic twisting was a good warning. |

Elevation: 182m / 597feet Barometric Pressure: 99KPa With the Air Pilot screw on the default 2 turns out the #42 jet ran fine, I have mine at the moment set to 2 1/2 turns out and left it there to see how it goes over time. #40 is the default jet and the factory sealed Air Pilot screw was set to a hair over one turn out. If you are a turn out or under you definitely need to think about rejetting your pilot. Being just over one turn out in the factory state it was on the edge of needing a new pilot (running lean) and was popping on deaccelration. Now I just need to run it over a full set of seasons and monitor how it goes.

I don't know if anyone else realized this.
The EPA plate on my bike also has an EPA sticker version on the bike. Why double up I don't know. But that is besides the point. The sticker photo I have (a bit blurry). Has both the spark plug gap and the valve clearance specifications on it.

A little help please
Hello all,
My new X is on the way. I have a Hawk, but was looking for something more off road ready. I have read this entire thread once and scanned it a bunch of times, but have a few questions. I thought I saw a post about a KTM skid plate fitting, but cannot find it even with searches. Does anyone know what skid plates will fit? Has anyone changed the levers yet? Looking for something shorter than comes on stock bikes. Thanks in advance for any help. Zooker |

Milemark!!!!
ExMXer started this thread. He snagged this PSM release early on. And he found a real gem(s)
![]() Here is my post #5 in this thread. https://www.chinariders.net/showpost...25&postcount=6 I recognized the exceptional components/specs, but I had no idea what a game-changer this full on enduro bike would have in this community. I'd like to establish an inventory of ownership on this site. But I do not know how to do it. The goal would be to catalog ownership numbers, and ALL build, component issues, as well as how the vendor(s) have responded to them! This is one of (?) the TOP threads on this site now, and it is no surprise. Wuyi Zuma (Zuumav) has proven to be a leader in quality among China bikes. In business for just ~5 years, they are making a serious impact in the markets they have broken into. We have seen the impressive liquid cooled NC300 and NC450 entries that demonstrate that Zuumav is a true contender in world MX/enduro RACING. All I can say is that I would love to see Zuumav break into this market with those higher end models. |
