These travel trunks are copies of Givi, E360 travel trunks, which usually cost over $200 apiece.
![]() ![]() The mounting plate on the new, GP travel trunk is slightly different from the old mounting plate. Apparently, the new GP travel trunks fit perfectly on Givi, Monokey mounting plates, and vice versa. ![]() http://burgmanusa.com/forums/17-afte...whitney-s.html

Sears formerly sold the J.C. Whitney Travel Trunk under their name. You might find the following video informative. It shows an unboxing of the travel trunk, and its subsequent mounting on a Kawasaki KLR650 motorcycle. The video also shows how the Givi Monokey mounts are compatible with the Garage Pro Travel Trunks.

I shared this in another section as well.
I have one of the JC Whitney travel trunks, and it's very good. I installed a genuine Givi for Pastor Jim, and I didn't see much difference.

These travel trunks are very rugged, and hold a lot of stuff. I gave one of my travel trunks to a friend this summer, so I just placed an order for another, Garage Pro Travel Trunk.

I've always been a bit suspect of hanging all the weight off the rear of a bike, especially a trail bike. Just be

Don't ya'll worry about snapping these things off on big hits let alone broken sub frames?

My goodness, no.
![]() The subframe of my Zongshen 200GY-2 is very strong. I'm confident the subframe of the Zongshen RX3 is very strong as well. All Chinese luggage racks are also very strong. ![]() I installed a very strong luggage rack on my Honda XR650L. ![]() ![]() The Garage Pro Travel Trunk and its mounting plate are very strong. ![]() Needless to say, one should still exercise discretion, and not overload a travel trunk. When heavily loading a motorcycle, one should also take care to keep the weight distributed, and as low a possible. ![]() ![]()

I agree. The racks I've seen on China bikes are not trivial. My Honda clone bikes have fully welded subframes, like an old XR200, and I've yet to see one crack.
When Son of Weldangrind and I joined Spud on an adventure ride to Bonneville last year, we had mounted a massive Plano box on the rack to hold everything we needed. It worked very well.

Weld,
I think you will agree; the road to Bonneville got pretty rough in places. ![]() ![]() As a side note, I can vouch that Chinese motorcycles are built tough, to perform as work vehicles, not recreational toys. That's one of the reasons Chinese bikes are significantly heavier than Japanese motorcycles. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Glad to hear so much confidence in the Zong frames. I'm not a big fan of top boxes or hard luggage and probably won't even install either when i build my RX3. I'm a fan of soft luggage and probably do something like this.
![]() I like my weight low and forward.
