200GY-2 parts diagram / list

I purchased a Lifan 200GY-2 for my brother-in-law in 2006. I am now needing to start fixing stuff he broke on it. I am trying to find a parts diagram and parts list for this bike. I am also looking for a good place to get new parts for it in the USA.

Some of the parts I know I need are:

Keys - lost both keys, will most likely have to replace key switch, gas cap, and fork lock

Fenders - he broke both off

Lights - glass in most missing

Body panels - missing a few, not sure what is suppose to be there

After I get it started (no keys) I may find other items.

The worst part is this bike only has about 300 miles on it. He is just real hard on things.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Welcome. I recommend rehab for your brother in law.

The DS guys will be along soon with suggestions, I'm sure.

Perhaps anger management is in order?

Welcome to these forums, Bill! I own a Zongshen 200GY-2, not a Lifan 200GY-2. However, I bet you can get a lot of your parts on eBay, or from Hooper Imports.

http://www.hooperimports.com/

Perhaps the Lifan owners can direct you to a parts diagram for your bike.

I may be able to help with some parts. Still have a few GY2 pieces and some GY5.

Another member is parting a GY2 bike that has most of the body parts.

Take a look in the for sale section.

Thanks for the reply.

He is a Vietnam vet and lives in the river bottoms area. He is very paranoid of everything. He has never had anything nice and don't know how to take care of anything. I just want to get it back in the best shape I can for him.

Thanks

Bill

Does he need the security of having keys? If not I would just wiring an on/off switch in place.

Trying to remember if I still have my keyswitch. Will make my way out back and see what I have left from the GY2.

I respect his service. Please pass on our thanks from Chinariders.

You can get very high quality inexpensive universal fenders and headlight assemblies from companies like Maier and Acerbis. They will just about never break. May require some fitting but no big deal.

I bet you can bring the lock cylinder to a locksmith and he/she can create a key to fit.

Lock sets at hooper are 29.99. Wonder what a locksmith would charge?

More than that. Problem solved. Larry Hooper is a good guy to work with.

X2! If you can, give Larry some business; he's a good guy. American Lifan put him through the wringer. :(

I hate to say it but Hooper didn't have the ignition switch. I sent a email to Lifan Engine Parts and they directed me to call their parts dept. The answer I got from them was;

"Just go threw the pictures on the website until you see one that looks right and order it. If it don't work return it."

Not much help. They said the same thing about the front fender. (Hooper had it)

Wish Hooper had the parts, seemed like a nice guy and easy to get along with.
