New Owner, Will need help!

Hey, as the subject says, I'm a new owner. Bought a Roketa DB-27a off of a guy the other day, hopefully will turn into a good purchase.

Currently, the bike looks great, clean, no rust, all of the plastics are there. Its not a dual sport, no lights/mirrors/any of that mess.

Its a 2005, motor "looks" great. when I say looks, you have to look at it seperately, as its a basket case. Top end is completely dismantled.

I didn't notice until I got home but apparently the seller forgot to include one of the valve springs and assembly. Now that I noticed that, I'm going to go through what I have/don't have and make a list of what I need to get this thing back together.

This is where the help will come in! I'm reasonably competent with mechanical and electrical aspects. Have always done my own work on cars, and the two Motorcycles I've owned. BUT, never got a motor already taken apart, nor worked with a dirtbike engine. Concepts are the same, execution...a bit different.

I've done a bit of reading already, and know what I'm in for. Just looking for tips along the way. Which leads to a question....

Where should I post for the 2005 Roketa DB-27a? I'd guess Enduro, but possibly "Pure Dirt Bikes"?

Welcome. Sounds like a project. Pure dirt would be appropriate.

Definitely is a project. Everything else looks really good, gotta go pick up the rest of my tools from a friend, so I can check clearances and all the fun stuff. So far the only thing that really looks like it needs replacing is the piston rings, but won't know for sure until then.

The good news is that cylinder and piston combos are cheap on eBay.

I've looked and looked, can't find any!

I can find starters, coils, stators, plastics, frames, but no cylinders...or engine pieces at all

Here's one.

You need to consider how non-technical non-English speaking people might advertise their products. I searched for dirt bike piston to get the above return.
