Who knows about brakes?

Hey guys, long time no see...I have been in New York visiting my folks for the past few months and I went completely with out electronics the whole time, just some good dirt riding.

Anywyas, I'm back here in florida, and now I have a problem I need help with.

It seems my master cylinder on my front brakes is bad, when I squeze the lever, the plunger stays in, seems the spring is bad. Anywyas, I looked all over for a new one, and it seems there are many like it, except with out the mirror screw hole. So I am wondering, if I could get a smaller one, witht he whole, and it will do the same job as the one I have now.

08 Diamo LS200

Simular to the roketa DB-07 and the Zongshen Ls200

thanks for the help, Rando

If the brake master cylinder is the same, except for the mirror mount, you should be able to use it. You just need to buy a separate mount for your mirror.

Well thats the problem, I would like to have to avoid a seperate mirror mount, because then I would have to get a different mirror mount for the other side, so that it will match.

I am wondering if the smaller master cylinder whoich comes with a mirror mount will work, or will there not be enoungh fluid in it to make the brakes fuctional.

Get a Yamaha FZR600 master. It's a very well built master cylinder and they are cheap to come by. I bought my last one for $5. I use them on everything.

I had this exact same problem with my Xkeleton and one day I went to sqeeze the front brake and the lever never returned and caused the front wheel to lock. I just used a spare front master from my Yamaha and it worked fine, just had to rewire the brake switch and all was good

If the slave locks up that's a different sort of problem...solution is the same, though. Replace the master.

In general, anyone who has disc brakes on one of these Chinese bikes I strongly suggest they replace the master cylinders. The calipers seem to be alright but all the banjo gaskets and the seals in the master cylinders are all garbage.
