Nice you are getting it sorted. I think from other threads I see that you race strictly parking lot asphalt. Do you really need rear brakes at all for that?
I find the front brakes really strong, like easily loft the rear wheel strong, but I guess I don't push it as hard as you... I get on my SV which has upgraded stainless lines and nice EBC HH pads, and the brakes feel weak. Could be the extra 100 lbs...
Suspension is definitely a weak point on these bikes, but I don't know that an R6 would be a good swap, it seems like the stroke would be too little. What weight oil do you have in the front end? I still need to change mine, just haven't got around to it yet. To be honest, I kind of like the squishy ride over the harsh roads that I commute.

I would love to see some race video if you ever get the chance...

That's great, Trevort! ...and especially leaving some of those brand names behind...of course, some of that could be rider capability also. 8)

Regarding some of your other concerns...yah...the suspension is 'good' for normal riding but not up to Japanese standard for competitive bikes, by any means. Just keep in mind I HIGHLY DOUBT that the Chinese manufacturer ever thought in a million years that their bikes would be going through what you're doing!

I'm running Racetech light ultra slick oil for faster rebound dampening, also the R6 shock swap is a popular modification with several small cc bikes and since I run "street class" there is no off road sections to deal with so limited travel is an issue but you do gain a fully adjustable shock. I believe the front forks would not last very long on a moto course and I am not ready to get into a complete suspension/ wheels/ brake swap from a donor bike, In short completely rebuilding the entire bike. Right now I'm trying to work with what I have and not just give up and buy a Ktm.
