27mm or 30mm? What do you have on yours?

It will be a number on the side of the carb. Mine is PZ27. So, I'm assuming I have a 27mm carb. For those that have gone with the pod filter, what was your carb? AND has anyone done a re-jetting that can tell us what sizes you used?

Jason

Hi Jason
I know of a few people that have gone with a UNI pod filter on their bikes. Jetting is going to be different almost any place that you live. Example: I'm in Ohio sea level is different here than where you live so the jetting will be different between us. You need to re-jet a vehicle to the area that you live. I hope that this helps.

Hey Jason,
Sounds like you and I have the same carb. It is a Dekni PZ 27 - 20mm.

They are apparently used on 100cc - 200cc motors according to the many eBay auctions I have found them for sale in.

Here is their homepage - http://www.dekni.com/english/motoprod1.htm

The English version contains nothing I found useful.

Not much but I hope it helps.

BTW, for a laugh, the picture on the top of their page appears to have 2 giant carbutetor monsters (think Godzilla) behind their factory.

So are you saying that a PZ27 is the designation for a 20mm carb? For these PZ type carbs, have we determined the jets that will fit?

Ok Jason,
Sorry about that. I called the guy listing those and he said they were 27mm. 20mm is at the venturi. Why he listed them as 20mm - dunno.

Ok, does anyone already have the PZ30 that is listed for the replacement "Lifan performance engine"? I think they list this one as having an additional 2hp.

My bike has a Mikuni CV carburettor:

escrouse: funny that Dekni writes HP and tourqe next to the carburettors on their homepage, you might not need an engine

PZ-27 here, it also says "made in Japan" in small lettering. I wonder if it really was or if the tooling came from Japan?

The Dekni profile page includes this:

"Zhanjiang DENI Carburetor Co., Ltd. is located in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, a beautiful coastal city. Incorporated in November 1992, the company is a joint venture established by Zhanjiang Nan Fang Carburetor Factory, Dongfeng electronic technology co., EK Chor (Hong Kong) Investment Co., ltd. and Keihin (Japan) Co., Ltd"

Maybe Keihin compatible? Seems possible as RD swapped his jets on a Lifan with Keihin jets in this thread

Good find. Can anyone else comment on the jetting being similar or the same as Keihin. If so, which Keihin carb would one cross reference to match up jets?

Hi fatboy250
Most of the carburetors on these bikes are Keihin styled carburetors, and are manufactured by Keihin, {some are not}. Keihin & Mikuni both make carburetors for other off-brand companies. I will let you know later on what main jet {Size} will fit in the carburetor you have, I think I have a new carburetor in stock so I'll check. Between Pilot & Main jets that Keihin has made over the years there are about 60 different jet styles & sizes between the main & pilot jets that they made. The carburetor that you have could also be a TK or Teiki carburetor.....hopefully not. Mikuni CV carburetors are used on almost all Suzuki & Suzuki styled engines now. Qingqi {pronounced: Chen Say} is one of Suzuki's sister companies in Asia, and they also use Mikuni carburetors.

Thanks Bruce,
That would be a great help! Just to confirm, I have a Dekni PZ 27. If possible could you also tell me the dimensions for the air filter side, so I can properly choose the right size air filter. I believe I will be going with the uni pod type. I would rather take the carb off once to do everything.

Also, shouldn't the stock jets be marked with a number to know what size they are?

Thanks again for your help,
Jason

I made a picture in paint to show you the jet & all of it's sizes but can't get it to post here, I guess I just don't understand how to post a picture on this board. send me an e~mail to ejcycles00@sbcglobal.net and I'll send you a copy on it. I will send the pic asap. or call me at 330-274-0098.
