Crazy performance ideas?

Someone should try at cheap NOS setup on thier chinabike 8O

I think it could handle a 10 shot? Maybe even a primitave turbo could be modded up? I've seen it done on 4cyl 600/1000s. Tuning a single cylinder should be way easier, the single headpipe should also be fairly easy to mount a turbo on.

Anyone got some fab skills and a good welder? Most of this stuff can be found all over ebay for rather cheap. We all know how cheap the engines are to come by.

I dunno if we could actually spool up a turbo on such a small motor...

i really think the NOS would be "do-able" the turbo is a little over the top though. if harley guys can run NOS I see no reason why we couldnt.

haha, here ya go

aren't you supposed to dump more fuel with the NOS though?

give it a try and let us know how long long before the boom. A 10 shot is almost doubling the power, but it may handle quick bursts every now and then. Problem may not be the engine, but if the rest of the bike will take it.

Right the motors seem tough enough, But the rest of the bike may fall apart during the speed test.

I watched a vid of a pit bike doing almost 80mph on You Tube, They said they did a shot of NOS. I can't find it again but if it held up maybe a bigger one can take it once..Or maybe even twice.

if you tried a turbo, it would have to be TINY. Probably as small as they come (20g, t-25,t-27) something like that, even then if you could get it to spool decent, you'd still have to worry about fuel and tuning which would require a different carb, or at minimum jetting changes. Then you would have to wideband O2 the exhaust to figure out how to tune it correct, otherwise BOOM.

I would probably say it is very unlikely that a turbo setup would be all that beneficial on these, more of a hassle really.

I would say look into increasing compression, upgrading the rod and piston, increase displacement and look into bigger valves and a wilder cam. It's only a matter of time before these things start popping up all over with the popularity of these bikes.

My thought is this:

bore it out close to a 250cc, increase the compression to 10.5-11.5 (depending on whether or not an upgraded rod is available) port the intake and exhaust ports out to as big as we can grind them out. Change out the valves to lighter and stronger alloy ones, also check clearances for larger diameter valves for more flow, and then have someone either (A: mod the stock cam, or B: find a bigger cam to allow the powerband to be shifted higher up on the RPM's. Then just find a carb to supply the go juice and make an adapter to fit it on. Lots of work overall, but that would probably increase HP by nearly double. (who knows how long the motor would last at that level.

Does anyone know if a honda 250 motor uses the same casting as the 200's or 230? If so, we could always try to swap the better motor into the frame of these.

I wouldn't think of putting NOS on my bike. I love my bike. But I'm a button pusher. If some one I trusted gave me their bike and said "just push the Melinum Falcon button." I wouldn't think twice. Where do I get body armor. 8O
