My TW only seems to slip in fifth gear, and that only presented itself when I increased the countershaft sprocket by one tooth. I'd fix it, but I'm having too much fun riding it.

Anyways, It still didn't fix 4th gear. MANNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The old basket appeared to be fine so i dunno...

When im in 4th gear and accelerate, it makes like a horrible noise in my engine/clutch, and the chain and sprocket shake violently.

This really sucks. FML.
So you replaced all of the friction discs, the springs and the metal plates?

What did you end up using as a spec for the bolts? Maybe you should just tighten them until they're firmly tight.

Perhaps you should take the chain off and run it through the gears and see if the noise still exists.

yes i replaced all the fiber plates, metal plates, and springs.

okay, ill remove the chain, see if it still does it. maybe i'll try the original front sprocket if that does it.

I only used a screw driver type tool to tighten the bolts up, got it hand tight. I will try to tighten them with a ratchet next time w/ more torque. maybe i've just been to scared of them breaking, and haven't got them tight enough.

They don't need to be excesively tight, just down and snug. I'd ballpark it about 15-20 ft/lbs.

Okay i ran it with out the chain on, it didnt slip, sounded like the other gears. Not sure what this means... Ill try my old sprocket once i can find it...

Also, should the counter shaft sprocket have some play? it moves around a tad.

Also, the problem did arise a few days after adjusting the sprocket, could this be a sprocket problem??

play in the counter-shaft sprocket is normal. generally sprocket problem will show them selves more in lower gears due to the increased torque.

Does it do the same thing in fifth gear as in fourth?

Regardless make sure your chain is adjusted correctly and the rear wheel alignment is correct. an angled or misaligned rear wheel can cause these symptoms from hopping the chain half off the sprocket, then popping back on. this will leave very obvious damage to the sprocket if this happens however.

If it is only doing it in 4th gear and not 5th it IS NOT a clutch problem. It has to be in the transmission or drive line or shifter area.

its ONLY 4th gear.

Alright wild, ill re-adjust my wheel and give it a try.

Also, I found a Lifan 200Gy-5 that someone crashed (minor crash) on craigslist. Seeing as my bro has the same bike He said he'd be down to pay half. I'd get the engine, and he'd get the rest... they're asking 500, but im going to try to talk them down closer to 300.

Is there a good chance this engine will fit my roketa db-06??? im going to take a look at my bro's and my bike after work today.

Thanks.

In all likelihood, it'll bolt right in. Good score!

That would be a great solution, and for as little as $150 unbeatable.

I anticipate taking the engine out and putting the new in inst going to be easy... any tips? The swing arm part i imagine is going to be the hardest. I know wild alaskin has some experience in this, with his lifan 400cc build.

im going to take some more measurements of my and my bros bike.

I should have it by Monday.

Actually it might be quite easy.

The trick is to have a decent sized clean well lit undisturbed area to work in and the right tools handy.

I put a Lifan engine into an XR200 and it was time consuming but not too hard. Indeed most of the effort was in the wiring, which you should not have to bother with since the exchange will be like-for-like.
