They are not directly Honda engines ,They are made by asiawing china. Quote from canadamotogiude( The dual sport is essentially one of their dirt bikes (that uses a Honda 450X DERIVED motor but detuned a tad to give 40 rwhp)

Not to be the negative neddy, but I hope Asiawing sorted their bike out, with help from CCW. There was a thread on Mychinamoto a couple years back from a guy in China giving a first hand account of his ownership-he wasn't too pleased from what I remember.

SSR has recently introduced a near exact copy of the CRF250 dirt bike. Cannot copy/paste the photo due to being on a tablet, but it's now on their site. Their bike is priced at arround $3500.

My guess is the engines are made by Asiawing. They have no problem touting their 250 and 300 engine origins as being GasGas (under specifications), but their 450 lineup states a generic liquid-cooled 450 engine.

Thanks for posting the informative link, Racer. Among other things, it appears the military version employs an LED headlight.

Thanks for posting the good link, David. I am certainly getting more interested in the Christini bike, but I still have my doubts about the CCW bike.

A Chinese "derived" version of a Honda engine, is not a Honda engine. However, I am intrigued by the Navy Seal's successful employment of the Christini 450 AWD motorcycle.

Yep, missed the derived part. I've looked at all three engines and can not tell the difference beside color. You can see subtle differences in other cloned engines on other CBs but not these. The welds on the frame of the CCW are nicely stacked dime shaped. The Honda and Christini aren't as uniform but are the same. I did notice that the head of the Honda has writing on it. A search reveals that it says UNICAM. It's very telling that the Christini website does not have a very good view of the engine.

So, the U.S. military is using Chinese copies of a Honda.

Indeed. The Chrisiti AWD technology is fascinating. Therefore, I started a new, dedicated thread to the Christini AWD bikes at the following link.

There does seem to be an influx of new 450s all sporting very similar Chinese engines these days ... sort of like the 200cc China bike boom of a few years ago.

Current word on the CCW bikes . Awaiting final compliance approvals EPA. I will try to get an update later this week . 30 Bikes built and ready to ship as so as they have compliance cert. . I believe between the Awd Chrisiti and The CCW bikes the 450cc engines have different specs ,when the CCW bike first popped up there were specs also posted (gone now ) 9.to1 compression . the Chrisiti has 11 to1 compression posted . I suspect the military may have spec'd a lower compression Chisti to improve long term reliability.

Most definitely. I think it started with the Xingyue 400s a couple years back, and now these Asiawing 450s.

Another wave of possibly much improved bikes. Only issue I see is the initial purchase price. It may not be an issue to others, but it should bring us more members.
