Here's a couple of pics of the modified mount, from the bottom and the top. I made sure to have enough space from the edges of the mount to the hole, same as the original spec. Once the hole lower on the mount was drilled, I had to take some material off the top of the mount to clear the shoulder on the bottom of the shock. It worked out well, and when I test rode it over some bumps and on the highway, there wasn't any clearance issues of the shock to the triangular mount.
I included a pic of the bike from the dealer, it's a bit different now but I don't have a better pic right now, I'll get one in a suitable setting when I take it out on an off-road explore session around here. |

Excellent! It never occurred to me to re-drill the existing lower mount. I did that on Son of Weldangrind's first bike, but that was to raise the seat height, and it was at the upper mount.
