Mechanical question
I took off the silver cover in this pick with the three bolts and when i pulled it a gear two washers and a rod fell out. I put the rod in and then a washer then the gear around the rod then the other washer. Just wondering if it mattered how i put the gear in. As in if it affects timing or something idk thanks for any help.

The part circled in the pic is the balance shaft. It cannot be removed without splitting the crankcase. Are you sure you didn't remove the electric starter reduction gear cover?

Good catch, Mudflap. I agree that it's likely the starter.

X3; that is the only possible explanation I can fathom.

Assuming it is the starter gear there are 2 thrust washers, one to go on each side of the gear.
