250cc?

Hi guys, I am new to the forum, owned a Lifan 150 for about a year, has about 2k miles on it. I was wanting to get another bike to play with and have seen some talk about 250cc bikes. are these made by lifan also? is there any one that knows the different makes of 250's? I did a search and came up with a few different makes but haven't been able to answer my questions.

I don't think lifan is selling a 250 yet, but there are some others. Mostly in the pure dirt versions.

I have a Hougdou 250, it has a 223cc Zongshen motor with 6 gears. It was originally a dirt bike which I have converted for tarmac use, I am VERY happy with it, in my opinion the worlds best kept secret!!

Jonathan.

Hi poncho, vbike.usa sells a 250 Hi-Bird.I just got one in today. This is the first chines enduro I have evere delt with.I have to say i am really impressed with it.It took me a few hours to assemble it but no problems at all.As a matter a fact after I changed the oil and put gas in it it fired up after about two kicks.I didn't even have to adjuct the throttle jet it runs perfect.
Here is a link if you would like to check it out.

A 250cc isnt a big enough jump up for me now, I need a 350-400cc bike to satisfy my needs/wants.

I kinda agree. The bigger draw for me would be a 6 speed tranny. That 250cc / 6-speed combo would be enough for any of my needs. A real low 1st gear and overdrive 6th would just about cover everything with 20hp pushing it.

a 250cc would have been a better first china bike but since I plan on keeping my 200cc for a while longer it really doesnt matter right now.

My bike is running pretty good right now and it is doing most everything I want it to do.

You know, I am always amazed at just how well these bikes actually do. I am 210 lbs, and the bike pulls me around the Vermont country side just fine. All of our roads are in the mountains, virtually no flat roads, and these little bikes do a good job for what they are. Anyone I've let ride it can't believe it's only a 200cc engine putting out a whopping 16hp and 75 mpg. Pretty amazing really. As far as transportation goes, you're not gonna find a much cheeper way.
