Remove battery?
I was wondering if I can take my battery out completely. It has been dead for years and I don't use it as far as I know. I would like to bypass it and cut the extra weight.

I believe you need a battery--you must have a bit of charge in there? I could be wrong, however...

Engine IS AC-CDi ie. NOT related to battery & rec/reg
At least add a capacitor (the trick for TCI https://translate.google.com/transla...thorid%3D75082 model) if wants "clean" DC (too much surge WiLL kill the filament early) for the neutral light, indicators, tail light...

On some bikes this a big no,,,I purchased a zongshen sierra last year that the owner had ran without the battery an it fried the stator,,or the pickup coil. Not sure of which one ,,cause i replaced both pieces while i had it apart,,..Then it had spark again!!

My first two Hensim 150's were kick-only, no battery. No lights though either. Dirt only.
In the olden days, I stripped every Enduro I ever had because they only needed one wire to run off the flywheel/mag....with the exception of my Yamaha AT1 125. It had an electric start. It needed a battery and all the electrics to run.

Quick update, I had been running my 200 with a dead battery for years, and still was able to drive at night with lights and brake lights. I finally removed the battery completely after posting this and all is well. I still have lights and brake lights with no difference. I removed the battery box as well. There is a slight fluctuation in head lamp brightness between idle and full throttle but hardly enough to notice. I don't mind kick starting so this has been a positive improvement to get rid of the battery that had already broken off twice while dirt riding.
