I might try the Coleman Comfort Ride(TM) Seat Protector. Lots of videos of different ways to fasten it. I think I'll cut/break the fasteners off (don't cut the loop they fit into) and then use bungee chord. Add a little extra padding between the dip of the seat and the Coleman.

Is the front seat mount welded to the frame? If not, you could try something like this,
http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...py-seat-2.html Check out post 27. Hopefully the pictures will show up. My 2012 Versys was a butt burner until I did this mod. It raises the front of the seat a 1/2 inch or so. It was so simple and cheap (I already had longer bolts and made the plate out of scrap) and really worked. It's easy to try out before you go and spend money on a new seat. If your mount is welded to frame you can still try it out by setting the front seat tab on top of the mount, attach the seat normally at the back, and take it for a spin. If it feels better you would have to fab up a different mount on top of the existing one somehow.

Seat comfort is relative to experience
I know this may not help:
I always think it's funny when dual sport riders complain about seat comfort. I'm new to the sport but I have about 38 years experience on bicycles - road, mountain and touring. Seat comfort on the worst motorcycle is plush and luxurious to me. In December of 2017 I rode several hundred miles around Costa Rica on a Honda CFR230 with bicycle bags draped across the seat. It was a wonderful muddy mess. The seat felt like a Lazy Boy compared to a hardtail MTB. |

The Hawk seat itself isn't actually that uncomfortable. It's the shape of the seat that many are complaining about here, including myself. The CRF230 seat is more level front to back, but the Hawk seat has a cutout/saddle shape, and the rear part of the seat cut-off where it dips down is in a goofy spot for some of us. A growing trend with Hawk owners is to cut down that step to help even out the seat, otherwise it puts you in an uncomfortable positon that you are more or less locked in.

Be careful out there my friend...we want new adventures for 2018! It's not how fast, but what you've seen.

i think the hawk seat is the most uncomfortable seat i have ever ridden. after an hour i slide back on top of the passenger part! im thinking of getting a harley seat cheap that someone has taken off and bungee it to the hawk if i go long distance anymore! might look like hell but it will be comfy.

I would say even replacing the top layer with some Luimoto gold gel would likely help a lot, if it wasn't so pricey.

I didn't care for the stock Hawk 250 seat either but decided to try the seat from a TT250 purchased from CSC. It is much better but not for short people as is
raises the seat height considerably. It was a good trade off for me as I need the leg room also. |
