What's your hawk idling at with the mikuni?
I use to idle 1500-1600 on the stock carb. With the mikuni I can't get a steady idle lower than 1800, bike seam happy at around 1900-2000. At 1800 it dies occationally.

Sounds like your slow jet might be a tad too small.

that's larger than most of us run. I have a 30 in mine with the pilot at 1.33 turns. I have a 27.5 that I'm going to try next. I would try the 30 with the screw at 1.5 turns and adjust from there.

my blue one is stock. Had the 25 in there and it was idling at 1800-2000 but dying with the idle dropping a little towards 1500. I swaped it to a 27.5 and it was dying less frequently. Swapped it to a 30 and it was dying more frequently. Didnt get a change to adjust anything with the pilot and idle screws. |
