Hawk 250, mikunni carb,
if I remove cat, what jets will I likely need to go to? I'm mostly on street. |

Hard for anyone to narrow things down for you without knowing your specific altitude

Need to know if you opened up the airbox and also altitude you plan on riding at before I could even begin to recommend jet size.

Has been opened up considerably. Still retains stock style filter. It could easily be modified further accordingly. I'm at about 600' , Nashville TN area. Won't likely get much higher.
I've got the pipe and welder ready. |

I'm running a 117.5 main and 30 pilot jet with an aftermarket air pod intake. I'm running a little rich. I'm at about 800 elevation. with cat removed, I might be in a little better shape. I'd stick with the 115/30 at first and adjust from there.

Thnx. I'll double check what I have. Pretty sure it's what ever most commonly recommended

I have a 130/27.5(down from a 30) and I have a new exhaust and pod filter. Still not running perfect for me. I think each engine is different and you will get slightly different answers. Also mileage matters. I am just under 500 miles so fully broken in yet.

rally good point. I'm at about 750 miles now and it keeps improving. I was riding with Mark on some N.GA mountains and his hawk was maintaining on uphill grades better than mine.

115/25 works well with the nitrohead racing muffler (short wide header w/out muffler but a flute insert), 30 is a little rich, perhaps 27 would be ideal.
