Not as big (like these ever really made it to N. America) but we had discussed this company, too...

No they have not...
I am a Xingyue Dealer for their scooters. Xingyue is pronounced Sheng Yea. I have a Distributor in Ohio that I work with for Xingyue products. I hope that this one isn't made as bad as The 250 I looked at earlier this year. They will not be here till after the end of February, after The Dealer Expo. I will be there talking directly with Xingyue and my distributor. Xingyue just started importing product into this country {USA} last year {2007}. They have some very well made scooters, but their bike at the time was not that good. They also have Buggies/Go Carts that are made very well. They are in the process of moving their California warehouse, but who is going to be the main distributor is in question at the present time.

Thanks for the info Bruce. I think the biggest area of concern with all of these bikes is the suspension. I would be very afraid of riding a 400 if it had the same setup as the 200's.

shineray 400

Wow, from the GY6 thread they had a link to this new Shineray.

http://www.shineray.com.cn/product_0...87%8E%E8%BD%A6

That sure looks like an XR400 even down to the engine. I want one of those if they are cheap enough! I have an XR650L but that would be lighter and easier on gas. I wonder who makes that engine? I would hope Lifan but it doesn't look like it. Actually it looks like Honda does but we know that isn't the case.

SWEET!

Jeff

Shineray also has a partnership with Honda. I would guess that it is also a Honda based engine

That would be cool if it was truly a Honda based engine and affordable. I'm tired of seeing people write on the web that these Chinabikes are copies of Honda engines etc. We all know they don't share more than a sparkplug and sprockets. Hardly a copy or clone. They look similar but there aren't parts that interchange as many try to make others believe.

I have looked for a long time for a good XR400 but since they haven't made them for years the ones I've found are pretty beatup. Man, a chinese one that would be affordable would be too cool! Maybe Honda would bring them back. I'm not interested in a skirtless piston type engine like a lot of the newer engines are using (esp in the MX bikes).

piston slap is acceptable in some situations. but if there are other people trying to sleep, the sound of the slapping can be bothersome.

I suggest a higher viscosity lube to help. :P
