Be sure not to use a propane torch to do the soldering. Do not use acid core solder. Electric soldering gun will work. Flux core solder. Assuming these are the same as the barrels I used years ago, one side of the hole is coned. Stick the wire through the small side, then spread it to fill the cone, heat the cone enough to melt the solder, and keep the heat on long enough to make sure the cable end is soldered. You don't want to do the same job twice, unless you have to. Get the wire and the cone hot enough the first time, and you will be a happy camper...ARH
