I'm glad to know there's someone on here who knows about sidecars! This is just something that was lying in the back of the garage for the right day... I don't have any welding skills or welding friends so I just bought the velorex Universal Mount Kit and made due... The mounting point definitely 'settled' over the course of tooling around today, gotta readjust now that they have found their resting spots.

I have considered that. Maybe I'll use Pete's rig for inspiration.

I like the way Pete fabricated the mount for the bike.

If I was to build another sub frame I would do it diffrently..
not seen this way done... but i would build a skid plate out
of 5mm thick stainless steel sheet & attach the side car to it...
in stead of the tube sub frame with a skid plate attached to it as
i have built... (still might down the track after I get this up & running)
The good thing with a leaner is the car can be unattached so easy
to use the bike as a solo when you want...
My last leanner on the XR250 I could take it off in 15/20 mins
3 bolts & one electrical plug.... about 30 mins to re-attach it...
if fact I put the XR unit over a bank , The only way to get it back up
was in 2 bits... bike & car... separate it , carry the car up to the road
then ride the bike up & put it back togeather on the road "track"
took about a hour or so all up...
A leaner car can be built quite light as it is pivoting on the bike & there
is very little stress on the car or bike compaired to a ridged unit..

Ok .. thats enough I seem to be hijacking your thread....Sorry...

No need to apologize. You have had plenty of experience with sidecars, so sharing your experiences with us is a good thing. Because there are very few sidecars in the U.S. And half of the ones we see are attached to Harley-Davidson Big Twins....ARH
