There is a difference between stupid(moron) and inexperienced.

Anyway you have found that it is lean and you now have to figure out where the imbalance is.
is it a carb setting ?
is it an air leak ?

Ok so take the throttle slide out and lower the clip on the needle to the second notch from the bottom and try that.

you want to make sure there is no air getting in between the intake manifold at the cylinder and the carb flanges.

My thought is if it's running lean you either have an air leak which is throwing off the air/fuel balance or you have a fuel restriction somewhere.

BINGO! I bet he's running with the choke closed when he thinks it's open. Thats why it's so rich and when the choke is opened (well, he thinks closed) it runs fine. Or, you have a plugged main jet as was alredy suggested. Runnig the choke would richen the fuel mixture and force more fuel through the other carb circuits. If you can't figure this out, take your bike to a small engine shop, they'll have you fixed up in 1/2 hour max. It'll be money well spent for you.

Well it just got worse...

C clip to second lowest....

Air mix 2 turns..

Runs like crapola...

Cant adjust air screw with bike running or I would have 3rd and 4th degree burns from exhaust..

Does the bike idle correctly?

Is the choke butterfly in the horizontal position when the choke is dissengaged?

Have you changed the jetting?(wouldn't mess with that at this point)

Are you sure the cap is seeted properly after you changed the needle position? (that can screw things up and it is easily cross-threaded)

KW4TX.Did you actually take the air cleaner out and put an eyball on the butterfly to see if its opening and closing correctly?

I took the whole carb out and blew air through jet and all openings...

did not really pay attention which way the butterfly was while I was choking it....

I did look to make sure that it was closing...

This has a handlebar choke...and I didnt see how it could be backwards...but I was not really looking that hard for that issue
