I dont think they even know what brand the bike is. The son bought this from someone second hand for $2000 so that shows he had no idea what he was buying since he basically paid same for a new one. and i am hesitant to tell them the brand because they might realise how cheap it would be to fix and sell for more. I ordered a new ignition fignured id only be out the restocking fee if the bike still doesnt run. but it wont be here for a week. I bought a battery from walmart because i figure they take everything back if it doesnt work and i i picked up an new ngk 2202 sparkplug. im gonna go over again tomorrow and try again i think i only need to wire all the black wires and the green one together on ignition and i should be able to use the started button or kick start it again. but again i never tried bypassing the ignition except on my lawnmower and that waspretty easy to figure out.Anyhoo ill keep everyone in the loop on how it goes tomorrow It would be great if i can get it running (and running well) and pick this up for only $1k

If you do not already own the bike ,then stop what you are doing .Once you get the bike running for them the price will go up ,or they may decide to keep it .If you have already purchased the bike then carry on .

Well everyone i replaced the fuse because it was blown put a new battery in and found the correct wires to connect and the correct one to snip and she started right up no problem. Definitely needs a better exhaust than the crap they tried to put on there. and it defiantly needs a new chain and might as well get new sprockets also. But other than that she ran good so i offered her $900 and she took it. i think i got the better end of the deal now. already ordered a new ignition and gas cap. I think i am gonna like this bike

So first thing i did was see if it was seized up and tried kick start. It really only gave me one chug. every dirt bike i had would give two to three chugs. can anyone chime on on that part. and i tried touching the black and the black/white and kicking it over nothing and then tried the green and the red touching and then tried kicking it over nothing. Wasnt too surprised because i am in this strangers garage trying to do a quick assessment of the bike and i have never hot wired anything but figured it was just a matter of grounding a wire or something i just know you shouldnt touch the hot with the ground i would think. oh well couldnt get it to kick over and concerned about the amount of chugs i got every time i tried kicking it. so i told her that since i cant verify the condition on the motor and since her son tried to hotwire it himself which im sure he knows less than i do. he could have maybe did more damage to the electrical on the bike doing that so i offered $800. she said she was only planning on going down to $1k so she would have to ask her son. Bottom line she aint gonna get a $1000 for a china bike that doesnt run but is $800 too much also that i offered. I dont know anything about these bikes and if that is a good offer and i could still get it running with less than $500 extra put into it. I mean i dont know how it was run or taken care of so whats everyones opinion. i really like the tt250 over the hawk and i cant really spend $2000 right know on a new tt250 or tmec 200 which is sold locally.
spend the $400.00 + more an get the hawk unless its 35 in seat issue an you dont like the high seat ,no mention of miles ,personaly i would not touch a used china bike ,with a new one it could go wrong too, save up for a new one ,then you would be the

3rd owner of a china bike too.oh well hope it goes well ,your personal choise i guess could go well time will tell a few months i would say,

Speak for yourself. Aside from some abuse/jankery by the previous owner, it sounds like a good solid bike, and for $500 less than a Hawk brand new he got a bike that would cost $1000 more than a Hawk does brand new. I would have done the same thing.

To the OP. Good work on getting it going. Figure out what you need to make it 100% and order what you need through CSC and you should have a great bike.

I know that a lot of bikes collect dust for a bit and somebody gets a shot at a good deal, good compression and a little wear and tear on a TT250 with all the goodies is a great start. plus he waited to see if it fire up before purchase so I say good on you Op and we need pics asap.

i did speak for myself 3rd owner of a china bike peronaly i would not have done it
when i can have a hawk new for 400.00 more,an a new bike to work on,but to each there own ,i dont think we are all hear to agree right or wrong i gave my 2 cents just like you,

what makes the world go around is we dont all think the same ,just like i would not put like $1500.00 into my hawk when i can buy a desent used jap bike for around 3k on a good day, shop till ya drop,i got my hawk for like $1269.00 in the end

i do hope it works out for the op as well an in the end,i just tend to feel if a guy did what he did or the kid who owned it cut wires how did he drive it , ? how many miles on the bike ,its just my hope he dont need to do much getting it right ,god bless

Pics of new toy

Here are some pics of the score i made as you can see looks Pretty decent shape except for they put a 2stroke muffler on this and it just flaps and swings all over the place. So ebay muffler is ordered ill probably do the air box mod as long as i feel its ok with driving in heavy rain like that. Here in florida it pours every day for 30 min. Ordered a new ignition and tank cap should be here this week and led bulb for headlight. Oh and can i put the Mikuni vm26 jets in our factory carb? If i do decide to get a Mikuni vm26 carb also is it 30mm. Rear brake line melted because of muffler should i just get factory from csc or is there another line you all recommend?

Nice score! You'd end up replacing the exhaust anyway. I'd wait on the Mikuni unless it's really lean at your high Florida elevation. ;-)
My neighbor's stock carb runs perfectly, even with the crf230 exhaust.....but we're at 3000'.

don think so is why people upgrade to a mikuni carb in the first place ,for some the stock carbs works fine, others not ,for most its alot more work tuning the stock carb is the reason for upgrade most of the time
